Claims of prophets have existed in many cultures through history, including Judaism, Christianity, Islam, the Sybilline and Delphic Oracles practices in Ancient Greece, Zoroaster, the V?lusp? in Old Norse and many others. Why believe any of them?
I refuse to call any religion's spiritual leader a false prophet, because the fact is these people believed they were prophets, they actually believed it, and maybe their teachings have changed some people's lives for the better. Do I believe Joseph Smith was a prophet? No, but I believe he believed he was, and know that his teachings have helped some people.
What did Jesus say who are gods...
John 10
32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, make st thyself God.
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blaspheme st; because I said, I am the Son of God?
Would you stone Jesus too?
Philippians 2
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God
1 Jn. 3: 2
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
Matt. 5: 48
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Yes, but much less harmful than another false prophet who springs to mind. He didn't tell people that killing unbelievers was the only sure way to get into heaven
Ha ha ha ha....
Keep looking. You will find the magical Mormon underwear eventually. What a hoot.
Joseph smith made several attempts at starting religions in several places and ended up tarred and feathered and run out of town. The Mormon faith was started with a couple of pieces of old Egyptian papyrus and some mummies that he purchased off of a traveling salesman. Look up Joseph Smith's mummies. He interpreted the papyrus, wrongly of course, asserted that the figures drawn on the papyrus were saints or angels or some such nonsense, and he was off and running with his new religion.
If you want to believe that dark skinned people have been cursed by god and that their skin will turn white once God forgives them, well, the Mormon church is the place for you. American Indians are all sinners. Jesus came to the Americas and preached to them but they rejected them. He turned them brown as punishment for their rejection.
I'm sorry, what was your question again? Were you actually trying to be serious?
Wow you guys are really rude and mean. Joseph Smith is absolutely not a false prophet - he was killed because he preached the truth. There is a reason why Mormonism is the fastest growing religion in the world!
