Default Why don't Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons just wait for people to go to their church

Why do they feel like they need to go door to door and convince people to buy into their beliefs?
<<<I guess they're just born knockers.>>>

Oh yeah? What if I tell them I'm born a kicker?

Yes, why don't I just let you figure out your going to plunge of a cliff on your own accord?

-not a JW, by the way, but I cannot say I don't respect their boldness when evangelizing.

Do you really think God only kind of loves each of His children. No, he loves all of them and wants us to get the word out because He cannot do it Himself otherwise that would remove the agency law.

Because good news demands to be shared!

Not really. I find it very annoying. I consider them to be door-to-door salesmen and treat them accordingly. "Thanks, but no thanks." If I wanted it, I'd go out and get it myself.

aggressive marketing works for them. if nobody ever listened to their spiel, they would possibly stop. but some people do so we'll never know.

They believe in doing good works to earn your way to heaven. Evangelizing to others furthers their chance of being the 144,000 who go to heaven. And it is not necessary. salvation is not attained by good works..... they misunderstand the concept of salvation. OK. some of this i am talking about Mormonism and some JW sorry.

Jehovah's Witnesses would die out. They have a very low retention rate. Most children who grow up as Jehovah's Witnesses leave when they're adults. They have to recruit like crazy to keep their numbers up. Nobody would go on their own. It takes sophisticated mind control. It helps that they target the weak and vulnerable for recruitment.

It's called evangelizing and all Christians do it in one form or another. It's our duty.

I am one of those people who was found by 'the Mormons' and will ever be grateful for how my life has changed. I've had 2 kids service missions in Australia & Hong Kong and they not only served others as they spent their time away from home but they grew themselves. Very positive experiences and we taught our kids are to share the good things we have.

Because there are so many "wandering strangers" out there, someone has to point them in the right direction. Otherwise it's just circles for them.

@Terri Th - Actually our numbers are just fine as is our retention rate. You should know since you have family that are among our numbers.

Edit - tactics we use? like what? showing people what the bible really teaches? Yeah, people of genuine hearts usually fall for truthful matters.

Honestly all Christians are commissioned to spread the gospel of Christ however, my way is more subtle. I used to wonder why they don't just get a TV station however I see now they would not grow in numbers because the door to door allows them to double/triple team you. I agree their numbers would fall off if they did not come to your home and use the tactics they use.
