Default I have a question for Mormons......?

If Moroni devoutly followed the Gospel, why is he an angel now rather than a god?
Ok, can someone explain judgment day, what happens after and how this affects Moroni - or us for that matter......

Good question!
The answer may have many parts, and I may not know them all, but this is my best understanding.

First, the final judgment has not come about yet.

Second, The teaching and belief is that God has all knowledge, and wants us to learn all he knows and help in his work. This takes times, for some of us lots of time.

We are not to become "rouge Gods" we are to help our Father in his work. What ever that is in his eyes. We are to become his servants, not to just go about doing our own thing.

I am sure Moroni is highly favored in God's eyes, and some day will as you coined the phrase "become a God" I would call it "become as God is"

Additional info:

As for after final judgment: That is when people are assigned to various kingdoms of glory, in heaven. Those in the lower kingdoms have a level of progression they cant go past, basically they are dammed at some point, and will progress no further.
Those who go to the highest level of glory, where God our Father dwells, will continue to learn and progress until they are ready to help our Father in all of his work, including creation by his instruction.
I have no estimate as to how long this progression will take, or exactly how it will happen.
Those in the lower kingdoms will be ministering angels, not really creators.

The few cast out to outer darkness will have no kingdom of glory.

We believe in progression.

Before we were born, we existed as spirits. To be able to progress further, we needed to obtain bodies. Bodies would allow us to have more experiences and test our strength of character. After we die, we are spirits again. We can continue to learn and grow while we await resurrection. After resurrection and judgment we are assigned to 'kingdoms' or 'glories.' Those who obtain the highest glory are capable of eternal progression.

When people usually talk about Mormons becoming Gods, it is usually in the misconstrued context that critics of the Mormon faith spread. Mormons do not believe that as soon as we die, we become gods.

According to Mormon doctrine, some instances of early resurrection can happen, but which kingdom everyone goes to isn't decided until after the Millenium. After everyone is judged and given access to the Celestial Kingdom is when people can become gods. Right now, according to Mormon doctrine, Moroni is just a resurrected being.

He, just like every other deceased person, is awaiting the resurrection. As the BIBLE explains in 1 Peter, we go to either Spirit Prison or Spirit Paradise after we die, to await the resurrection.

After the resurrection, we will all be judged of Christ, and will receive our eternal reward. This information is explained in the BIBLE, as well as other divine scripture....

FYI, angels are not fallen angels, they are men, even though Mormons are well aware that the cherub that covered the ark of the covenant had WINGS...all men/angels have no wings...FYI.

This one is easy MORMON!!!
Moroni has to blow his trumpet and until he does, he will not become a GOD!

@So Brian...what happen to Melchizedek, Elijah and Enoch who never tasted death??? Moroni is better then them??? You need to do some research bub! Satan thought that Moses was Jesus and that is why all those male babies died in Eqypt the first go around!

You don't just automatically become a god, you have to know what God knows and be like Him. That could take millions of years to arrive at that point. I'm assuming Moroni has already been resurrected however.

Judgement day isn't just the final judgment. After we die we have a judgment that determines if we go to spirit paradise or spirit prison. The final judgment occurs before we are assigned a kingdom of glory after we have been resurrected.

There was no "Moroni". Fictional characters don't go to heaven, and are only judged by book critics and publishers. Only in the movies and Joseph Smith's imagination do these happen.

First you live in the Pre-Mortal existence. You have lived forever. If you go back far enough, you were disconnected intelligences. Small pieces to a larger whole that had not come together yet. That was a long time ago.

Infinity is a simple word to write or to say, but when you actually try to think about it is hard to really grasp completely. But is an indispensable concept and certainly true. You have existed for an infinitely long time. And that is a long time indeed, to exist.

When you became a spirit, with all of your spirit parts in place, then you lived in the Spirit World. God was there, and He is your Father.

Jesus Christ was also there. And so was the Devil. Jesus Christ had a plan to save all mankind if they would swear allegiance to the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. The Devil had a different plan. His plan was to build a Universe based on lies.

Building anything based on lies, is like building a building on a sandy foundation. It can survive for awhile, but eventually the lies corrupt the entire structure, and the entire concept falls into itself, like a pit that has no end.

One third of the hosts of Heaven chose to go with Satan. His promise of paradise was based on lies, and deception. They were cast into Hell, from Heaven. Hell is located on Earth, it also called Spirit Prison, and it is here on Earth (at present).

Jesus Christ is known as the Truth, because of His belief in the Truth. Jesus Christ believes in building on the sure foundation of the Truth. Two thirds of the hosts of Heaven... the spirits in Heaven, chose to come to Earth, and receive a Temporal body, in addition to their spirit body.

When you are born, you are not just a recently gestated fetus, you are also a being that is composed of Spirit, as well as flesh.

You grow, and learn, and in time, gain enough knowledge to make decisions and take actions, and choose thoughts as well.

God has a way of thinking, and doing things. The Devil has a way of thinking and a way of doing things. God's way is based on truth. The Devils way is based on lies.

This is the time to choose, what you will follow, and who you will be loyal to for eternity. Will you be loyal to the Truth, or will you be loyal to deception?

The day will come when you die. Then there will be a partial judgment. If you chose to do and think evil and you did not repent with full purpose of Heart, then because of the Truth that is in God, you will be cast into Hell, also known as Spirit Prison. If you turn sufficiently to the truth, and worship the truth, then you will go to Spirit Paradise.

Some spirits are Outer Darkness Spirits. These are all those that refuse to worship the truth, but prefer to worship deception instead. They will go to Outer Darkness forever. These spirits will refuse to believe in God. They will refuse to believe in goodness, mercy, and love. They will be judged by God.

Their end is horrible, because they rebel against the truth, and refuse to accept the truth.

Heaven is a place of truth. There are three degrees, based on your state of consciousness level, at the time you die. If you full fill your potential that you have after you die, then you can go to one of three possible Heavens. In fact there are an unlimited number of Heavens but they have three different divisions.

One Heaven is called the Telestial Heaven. Murders, and Adulterers and others of this sort who repent, and come to the truth, can hope to go to this Heaven.

The Second Heaven is called the Terestial Heaven. Basically good people, not murderers and adulterers, but also those who when push comes to shove really won't do the right thing, they go to this Heaven.

The Third Heaven is called the Celestial Heaven. This is the top Heaven. This is the Heaven of Jesus Christ, and of His Father, and of the Holy Ghost, where they dwell. This is the ultimate Heaven of love, and perfect truth. This is Heaven that is hard to even imagine, so happy are those that go to this Heaven.

To get to the Celestial Heaven a person must be the Good Samaritan, and a person must be Zealous in Charity and righteousness, and pious before the Lord, and one who worships the truth whole heatedly.

This life, is the life to repent in. Only in this life can a Spirit change His or Her state of Consciousness from a lesser state to a higher state of righteousness consciousness. The highest state of the righteousness consciousness is the Christ Consciousness. This is the state of consciousness that all Mormons old and young if they are truly devout, strive for.

So therefor the name of the church that Mormons go to is, THE Church Of JESUS CHRIST Of Latter Day Saints.

Jesus Christ commanded, and He said, Be ye therefor perfect, even as I am perfect.

With faith the size of a mustard seed this can be done, by a person who has faith, because with God nothing is impossible.

Everything in its own due time. I have no doubt that Moroni will be exalted when it is time for that to happen. In the meantime God has other functions for him to perform.
Judgment day doesn't come until after the Millenium is over. The Lord's work isn't done until all of God's children have received the gospel teachings and ordinances, or have at least had to opportunity to do so and have chosen one way or the other to follow or not. That won't happen until the earth is covered with the gospel during the Millenium. We will continue to work for the saving of God's children until all has been accomplished. Then will Satan have another shot at God's children and will be ultimately banished into outer darkness. Then will we all be judged and receive whatever glory we have merited. Thus, until the end comes, Moroni, and others similarly situated, will continue to minister to God's children as called upon to do so until the Great and Dreadful Day arrives when all will be brought before the bar of God to be judged. Then, Moroni testifies that he will stand, or his words will stand, to testify for us or against us if we accepted or rejected his testimony as recorded in the Book of Mormon.

It's my understanding that the final judgment will occur, at least for those who were resurrected after Jesus (as opposed to the righteous dead who were resurrected immediately after he was), after all of God's righteous children are resurrected. Now as to whether he was resurrected or translated, I wouldn't know, but if we are the children of God, Moroni would still minister to God's children at God's command, no matter what reward he had received.
