Default My Mormon church teacher made her child sit his poop. Explain?

We were in town in her tiny car visiting a Mormon bookstore and we went to go to a restaurant afterword. It was evening and her three year old pooped in his diaper right after he ate, and he told his mom "I pooped." She got really mad, picked him up, and plopped him down hard in his car seat (oh God, the mess...). She said "Well you can SIT in it!"

My problem: She had NO consideration for me and my sister. She invited us to come. Home was three hours away and on the way back I had to smell her child's sh*t! Would you ever do this to anyone? My mom got angry when I told her. She speculated that she used this to purposefully torture us, not just her son. It was inside a tiny little car, and my sister got the worst of it because she had to sit in the back.

I quit being Mormon when I was 18. This thing happened when I was 13. Why...Just why?! It was just really shameful. What do you think?
Smelling a pooped diaper for three hours can and WILL give you a splitting headache! Me and my sis had headaches when we got back. I was so glad to be home.

P.S. I have no shoe on my head, but I can admit I'm a looker. :P Some of you just want free points.
He's three and in diapers because I think he was slower to catch on to toilet training. My one nightmare when babysitting him was him pooping or peeing. He always lied to me and told me he didn't need the bathroom, and would throw a fit if I tried to grab his hand and pull him into the building. It was like my first time babysitting, I didn't know how to deal with children... (Greer)
I ask this question because it has always lingered on my mind. Her family was so strange. Her in laws and her father worked at my school and her father in law was reported by students to be kind of a pervert. He's an older man, but he'd ask for hugs all the time, and he'd hold on for too long. I did not feel comfortable with him.

I was a kid back then, would I SERIOUSLY think about reporting her to child protective services?

EeeWw. Mormons are supposed to be nice!! And have more kids where were all the other kids!? Your lucky you didn't have to smell all their poop! I'm kidding of course. That was very wrong of her! Getting mad at a 3 year old for doing what's natural! Poor kid, what a horrible woman, I don't think it had anything to do with being Mormon though. I've grown up Mormon and I never seen anyone act that way. They were all nice and let their kids do anything. Most anyways. That lady is just a crappy mother.

Maybe she was having difficulties with him and potty training, and had threatened if he pooped in his diaper again, he'd have to sit in it. That's the only scenario I can imagine. And if that's what happened, that's bad parenting in my opinion!

I don't think it has anything to do with being Mormon. People of many faiths do downright abusive things to their children to potty train them. They humiliate them, they spray cold water on their genitals, they leave them in dirty clothes. It's disgusting. I understand that potty training a child can be frustrating, but if you can't manage your frustration, get your tubes tied or your legs crossed.

Well that's just nasty. It's wrong, he probably got a diaper rash. And why is a three year old shitting on him self.

That's considered neglect and could have been reported to CPS. I feel sorry for that child, I bet he had massive diaper rash.

Y do u have to bring Mormon into it don't they get enough of a bad rep Lil my grandmother is Mormon and I went all my childhood. I think that u should of been more worried about the child getting bad diaper rash then U having to smell stupid crap. I would of told her to change him or ill report her for abuse poor little boy u need to grow up and BTW if this happened so long ago y are u asking it now

she was wrong all the way around. you dint leave a kid in a dirty diaper for 3 hours regardless of what your reasoning could possibly be. there just is NO reason to do that. all it will do is cause diaper rash and infections for the boy...my guess is he is 3 years old and still in diapers because his mom isn't smart enough to potty train him. she just lets him set in it so he doesn't know hes supposed to want it off of him. i dint know if she was doing it to torture you and your sister or not, but she was torturing that little boy. shes not fit to be a parent from the sounds of this.

It sounds like your Mormon teacher was not a very good parent. I see lots of people out there who I don't consider good parents, and not all of them are Mormon.

this has nothing to do w/her being "Mormon" and everything to do with her frustration @ a three year old who is not potty trained yet....

was it a great thing to do? no.
was it @all effective in helping train the kid? Polly not.
was it intended to make YOUR life uncomfortable? not likely.

this is just a frustrated mom. that's all.
