Default Can any one prove there really was a budda, Joseph Smith, Charles Taze Russell etc.?

If you don't know who these people were you may have to read a book.

there are pictures of Russell so I don't know if that helps.

We don't disbelieve they exhibit...we disbelieve what they profess!

Yes, but only to the extent that one can prove that Adolf Hitler existed. You'll need different sources and everything else your history teacher probably taught you.

BTW, it's spelled "Buddha".

I can't even prove to you that I exist if you refuse to believe it.

Buddha would be difficult to prove as his teaching weren't written down until 400 years after his death. But that doesn't particularly matter because you don't have to believe in Buddha or pray to him to follow the faith.

Yes, they did exist. The original Budda was a man by the name of
Siddhartha Gautama, (Prince Siddhartha of the Guatama clan ca. 563-483 BC) known as "the Buddha" which means "the enlightened one".
Joseph Smith Jr. born 1805-1844
Charles Taze Russell born February 16, 1852-October 31, 1916.

Joseph Smith is well documented historically.
It really wouldn't matter to Buddhists if anyone named Gautama existed or not - the world is illusion anyway and his divinity doesn't come into play in Buddhist practice.
Charles Taze Russell wrote books. I assume he exists; if not under that name, at least another one.

Of course, technically, you can't really "prove" anything exists. You can only infer from evidence.

For all I know, I am a butterfly dreaming he is a man.

Charles T. Russell, founder of the Jehovah Witnesses died in 1916.

Joseph Smith, founder of the Mormon Church began in 1820.

Buddha or Siddhartha Gautama was born Hindu and lived from 563 to 483 B.C. Big old idol god.

You didn't ask about Moses and the Torah which God gave to Moses but he probably wrote it between 1445 -1405 B.C.
He was born in 1525 B.C. and lived 120 years. Christ confirmed that Moses wrote it and that is good enough for me. Christ also confirmed that it is God's Word and that is good enough for me.

Everyone will site BOOKS, and WEBSITES, and other resources. However, if we believe in Jesus because of all of the Historical and Biblical evidence, if we give websites about Him, they will ignore it.

Can anyone prove you exist? After all, you are only letters on a web-site.

We can only trust the documents that we have available and the heritage that they have left behind to know anything of these names.

Yes, it can be done.
Here is one way. I have a family relative whose name is J. Alan Stout. He personally knew Joseph Smith. J Alan was observed by his children to have walked and talked with Joseph Smith. I have met J Alan's children and they are honest people. They shared this with me. By deductive reasoning, I know that Joseph Smith existed.

I would assume that the same can be said about the others.

I believe your point is that people read and write about Buddha, JS, CTR but the only way you can prove they exist is with books.

There have been more books written about God, Son and Holy Spirit and more bible published in more languages than any other book in the history of man kind. YES there is a GOD
