Joseph Smith died because of gunshots. Does this prove that Mormonism is the one true
The argument is made that no one would die for their religion unless they were convinced, in their heart and by their actions, that their religion was the one and true Church only.
The logical argument is made that men and women would not be so stupid as to die for a false religion.
That's why I am convinced Mormonism is the one true Church.
Actually he died while trying to barricade the door of the room he was in to keep out his would be murderers. If he was a real prophet why would he fear for his life? I never heard a story of Jesus fighting with the Romans to keep himself off of the cross.
Dying for your religion is a good indicator that the person BELIEVES that they are following the correct one. Absolutely. I think there will be more than a few surprised people in Hell.
It's my understanding though that Joseph Smith did not have a choice of renouncing his faith to live though. It's also my understanding that he did not die because of his religion.
Let's compare this to the apostles. They saw Jesus rise from the dead. They saw the miracles. They could have chosen to stop preaching and live. If they were lying, it would be a strong reason to stop spreading the lie. They did not stop though.
yes you are right about that one because i am Mormon myself and i do believe that the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints is the true church. I am so glad to meet a member of the church. The only thing that is so wrong with me now is that i need to get back into the church and no matter what i do i will still believe in the church.
I don't why you have belief.net if you're LDS.
I think belief.net is one of those website that are anti Mormon.
No there are people who died for true and false religions.
The proof of Mormonism isn't Joseph Smith being martyred in prison. The proof of Mormonism is God speaking to you by the Holy Spirit answering your prayer, that is the proof of Mormonism. Joseph Smith was the leader of our dispensation of fullness of times and readying our generations for the second coming of Christ. But he became a leader and prophet by the power of God not of himself.
