I know some Mennonite folks and all I know is that they can wear things like sneakers and are allowed some electronics and the like. I've never talked much about their religion nor asked to visit their community, but we were invited to their church twice before. Even though I'm atheist, it was a very interesting concept although I wasn't too fond of how they separated men from women in the pews.
Whosoever will, I believe is the Lord's word. I am Mennonite, A John Holdeman Mennonite. There are so many branches of Mennonites and Amish that it can be quite confusing. But , As you study God's Word, and you study the doctrines (teachings) of each sect, your search will narrow. God set up a 'Visible' kingdom on earth when He told Peter on this Rock, I will build my church. There has always been and always will be a 'Visible' church, that a person can look upon and say" WOW" they live ALL what the bible teaches.
I would encourage you, if you are seeking God's people to visit a Church of God In Christ ,Mennonite and also to order their doctrinal beliefs and tracts on every subject that can come to your mind, From Baptismal experience, feet washing included in the Lord's Supper, denying the world and the lusts thereof, the wearing of a prayer covering, excommunication,.......etc. This all free material and they won't ask for some sort of "gift" in your request... I have recently returned to the church after 20 years as a prodigal and can tell you with all my heart, these people posses the Holy Spirit and live their lives totally depend ant upon God and ALL that He has written in scripture.I have been to seminary and vocational traditional training through different denominations and know and realize that most all developer a belief system that works for them, instead of just taking God's word and learning to let Him work through us as He desires in His Word.We try so hard to find a religion that fits our needs, our wants and desires instead of just taking the Truth and letting it work It's desire in us. May God be with you as you search and keep knocking, keep seeking, for that door shall be opened.
