No. The Assyrian Church is not Nestorian. Nestorianism was an ancient heresy condemned by the Church corporate, and the Assyrian Church could not agree with the wording of the orthodox Creed. The issue was nearly resolved some time ago by Pope John Paul II.It was agreed between JPII and Mar Dinka IV (the"pope"of the Assyrian Church) that they were in agreement on Chirstology, but only for reasons of language the issue could not be settled. The Assyrian Church is commonly, but erroneously, referred to as"Nestorian". ------
