Baptists dint believe in the ceased gifts of the spirit such as a person touching someone and that person has the power to heal the sick person, they dint believe in speaking in tongues as Pentecostals/charismatics believe (tongues in scripture were foreign languages of other nations in the world that the Apostles were able to speak in to share the gospel message of Christ), they dint believe God has given visions to people or new prophecy because everything has been fulfilled through Christ and his complete revelation finished though Christ's 12 apostles.
They Miss read and misunderstand what scripture says about those gifts and chose to want it to be something mystical.
They believe the Bible literally unless it is clear that a verse or section is discussing something symbolic.
Southern Baptists believe scripture is clear on women's role in the church. They cannot be pastors, deacons, or leaders/teachers of men. They cannot speak during worship (pray or read scripture), and many of them are practicing what scripture says about women covering their heads (because it is about the authority of the church leaders - not the authority of man). God wont share his glory with anyone and a woman's head is her glory, so when worship ping God or in his presence with a congregation their heads must be covered. Many pastors dint understand that and they choose to believe it was something done in a certain society. but Scripture is profitable for all people of all times past present and future.
Pastors just dint study certian areas enough to know what God has said about certian issues and topics. But Ceased Gifts are clearly understandable by reading what the NT says about it in various places and letters to the churches.
They dont believe dancing is a sin, because there are different types of dancing. One for Lust, one for spouses, and one for worship. David danced.
and like all Christians (true ones) if they have repented and put their faith in Christ alone to forgive them and thus save them from God's wrath they are truely saved. You can see proof in their fruit. Do they have all the fruit of the spirit found in Galatians? If not, they might be a false convert.
OMG, u r kidding?! Pentacostal women don't cut their hair, ever, speak in tongues at church, stand up and dance to the lord in the aisles in church, some are snake handlers...every Baptist church is different. Some have women deacons, some have gay music ministers. Some are quite liberal, some are conservative. But Baptists are nowhere near as literal to biblical translation as Pentacostals.
Some differences are: Baptists dint believe in gifts of the spirit for today such as tongues, prophecy, healing etc... Pentacostals do,... Many Baptists believe dancing is a sin.. Many Pentacostals dance during worship... Many Baptists believe "once saved always saved" and Pentacostals believe salvation is an ongoing process. Those are a few and since Im neither Pentacostal or Baptist, they could probably answer better themselves
doctrinally it relates to Calvinism.
eternal security of the believer and modern use of spiritual gifts.

Baptists and Pentecostals are both born again and will both end up spending eternity with Christ if they have chosen to accept Him as their Savior.
In general, the Baptists believe that Pentecost was a one time event and they don't believe in the modern speaking in tongues. Pentecostals believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit which is evident by speaking in tongues. Paul wrote to the Corinthians:
1 Cor 12:7-11
7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
8 To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,
9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,
10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.
11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.(NIV)
1 Cor 14:1-5
1 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy.
2 For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit.
3 But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort.
4 Everyone who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.
5 I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may be edified.(NIV)
As Christians we can speak in tongues after we have the Holy Spirit, but for some reason the Baptists choose not to. It is a heavenly language and that is why men do not understand what we are saying.
BTW, don't confuse Pentecostals with Apostolics. Apostolics are a group of Pentecostals who teach that women must wear dresses, not cut their hair and not wear makeup among other rules that they impose upon their people. They are a part of the Pentecostal movement, but I am Pentecostal and speak in tongues and am not Apostolic. It is like saying that a Pepsi is a soda, but not all sodas are Pepsi's.
Baptists believe that the Holy Spirits purpose in a Christian is only to teach them to learn and be good Christians and Pentecostal/Charismatics believe that the Holy Spirit does everything it did in the Bible (prophecy, healing, tongues, etc.....)
