Default What is Protestantism? How does it differ from Catholic?

I just want to know what Protestantism believes in and how it differs from Catholic.

This might help a bit. It is a comparison chart with some of the biggest differences. You might have to look up some of the theological terms, because it is rather vague, but accurate.

simply put - CAtholic add to what the bible teaches and distort the ones it does teach.

Protestantism is simply a rejection, a protest, of the authority of the Catholic Church. Interestingly this didn't happen until about 1520 with Martin Luther, so for a thousand and half years before, there was only one Christian Church in existence: the Roman Catholic Church.

Protestants are our brothers and sisters. I don't usually try to compare and explain the differences in doctrines because in Protestantism, there's just too many. The denominations are many, as well as the doctrines, and continue to split and divide to this day.

Catholicism is far, far easier. All you have to do is pick up a catechism and you'll have everything the Church believes right in your hands.
