Default Do you agree that Protestantism is a slippery slope?

History and current day have pr oven Protestantism to be a slippery slope because it's an excuse for people to believe and do whatever suits their personal agenda.

For example, if someone wants to live a homosexual lifestyle but the Protestant congregation they attend says it's a sin, all they have to do is leave and start their own congregation which teaches that it's OK.

There are actually some people who don't believe in God or that Jesus even existed but who call themselves "Christian". This makes no sense, but it is the ultimate end result of the slippery slope of Protestantism.

Meanwhile, the Catholic Church is always criticized and attacked for not changing with the times and having old teachings. Well, guess what, those teachings are old because they are apostolic teachings which the Catholic Church has been preserving for the past 2,000 years. The Catholic Church sometimes develops a doctrine of faith but will never go against an old one.
I know that some will try to change the subject by bringing up scandal. But that's neither here nor there when it comes to the actual teachings of the Church and whether or not those teachings have authority given by Jesus (God in the flesh).
evenings, your problem is with the divinity of Jesus, not with the Catholic Church.

They can bring up scandal all they want - essentially saying, "Look, people in the church have sinned - it must be wrong" So what?

It is a slippery slope and indeed cannot be from God. For Pete's sake, their beliefs change daily!

I completely agree that it is wrong to start a denomination based on what YOU believe and not what Christ taught. However, it is also my personal belief that the reason Protestant churches exist is because not everybody finds Catholicism appealing and God would rather these people worship Him and be a little off (no this is not a stab at Protestants, merely stating my beliefs) than convert to a religion that is not Christian.

So I believe that while starting new churches to fit ones lifestyle is wrong, it is better than completely abandoning Christ. Just my two cents.

Catholicism is bogged down in heresy, as are many Protestant churches.

Aren't you the one that answered that the passages of the Bible where women are shown as less than men are from a time where that was acceptable and now it isn't?

Well my dear you cannot choose what to believe in the Bible, it is God verbatim, so don't come criticizing another religion in believing in whatever they want to, since you do the same.

And don't come with that crap of Mother Angelica to me, CZ I don't care her role in the Church, it just prove that women bust their asses off in the name of the Catholic Church and are denied the same rights
