Default Protestantism Question!?

I have three questions!:

- What is the role of the laity in Protestantism?

- Who comprises the priesthood?

-Is there a language of the church? (like in Catholicism, I'm pretty sure it's Latin)

Thanks!

Baptists aren't protestants, but I'll answer anyway.

1) The role of the "laity" - doesn't exist. We are all believer priests:
1 Peter 2
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

2) Who comprises the priesthood? - see above answer

3) Is there a language of the church? - BIBLE

Follow Jesus.
Jesus is our Priest.
Whatever language the follower speaks.

Protestantism is not a religion. Being protestant, or protesting, is to say that one does not believe the catholic church is the one true church and do not accept the Pope as the authority over them. Protestants do not call themselves protestants. Only catholics call people protestants. Those who are protestants call themselves Baptists, Methodists, Lutherans, church of Christ, etc.
Only Catholics have priests, have no idea what a laity is-- if it is a catholic thing, it is not in non catholic churches--nor is Latin used except in those churches which are almost identical to Catholicism-- Anglican and Episcopal, though I don't know if they use Latin or not. Dude, you really need to do some research on religions on line.

1) It depends on the church. By laity I believe you mean the members besides the pastor. The laity helps with a lot of the administration of the church, like teaching Sunday school/bible studies, ushers, choir, deacons, etc. In many protestant churches the lay members of the Church vote to select a pastor, deacons, and on the church budget. The laity should be witnessing, doing missions, etc., for Christ.

2) Protestantism has what's called the priesthood of all believers. We don't believe we need an earthly institution or priests to mediate between us and God. 1 Tim. 2:5, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."

Salvation is not connected to any earthly institution (Church) but is only contingent between the individual and God. So, we don't need a priesthood to confess our sins or convey salvation, each individual is their own priest in that respect.

3) There is no special language used in protestant churches, like the RCC has some Latin masses. Everything is spoken in whatever the common language of the people is.

EDIT

Pastor T, Baptists are Protestants.
