Default Germany...Protestantism and Catholicism?

I can't remember if the North tends to be more Protestant, and the South Catholic, or the other way around. Help?!?

You have it right. The north is more Protestant, the south, more Catholic.

During the Reformation era Martin Luther was helped by the German princes of the time and their military as well as Henry VII obsession with a male heir. That explains Germany!.
