Of the 3 world religions,Islam, protestantism, catholicism, which is most tolerant?
Tolerance is a VATEUhat religion must advocate among its folowers.unfortunately, the world as it stands today, gives me the imression that religion has failed to create peace through tolerance.Which religion has more tolerance practices in its doctrine and practices?
None. All of the world's religions teach that they and they alone are the truth and all other religions are lies and heresies. Doesn't matter which religions you are talking about.
Protestantism and Catholicism are two branches of the same religion, Christianity. You may have wanted to say, Christianity, Judaism and Islam. I would say Christianity, but then I am a Christian so I may be a bit biased
Catholism (Christianity) has the most tolerance of all the religions. We accept anyone to come inside our church and receive the word of God. A Jewish person, or a Muslim person could come into a catholic church and be welcomed by everyone. If I ever went to a church of a different religion, then they would not kindly welcome me.
you didn't name three religions you named two, one being Islam and then you named two branches of Christianity
but ill put my two cents in, being a Buddhist teaches a lot of tolerance the most of religions I've studied... the four truths pretty much sum it up and there ha vent been a lot of additional doctrines to the religious teachings of Buddha...meaning its pure and unadulterated.
All these religions are tolerant !! It is only the "Radicals" who are not, and they only fight in the "Name of Religion" to make it seem OK................
First there are 5 major religions: Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism. I would say Buddhism is probably more "tolerant." but it depends on your definition.
In order to answer that question, we would have to poll every single religion, assume that we get honest answers, tally up their total worship per numbers, determine their levels of faith and practice to consider, and then get percentage values for them based off of what they said...
Sadly, there is no real way to answer that question. Most religions claim both toleration and absolute rigidity under the same umbrella of a name. Doctrine will have both love and persecution in absolute dichotomy with one another in the same book, text, sermon, what have you. You'll get different answers and different reasons from everyone, especially when it comes to religious bias for or against a particular group of people. So, in the end, there is no good answer to your question other than that there are both tolerant and intolerant people in every faith that has ever existed.
...How are those the only three "world" religions? Arn't Protestantism and Catholicism both just Christianity? What about Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Paganism, hell, what about Pastafarians?
You do realize that catholics and protestants are both Christians. don't you? Islam has the LEAST tolerance of any religion on the face of the earth at present
Though as a Muslim my opinion is probably biased, I have been Muslim now for 11years and was christian before that.... I feel that I am more tolerant of other religions now then I was when I was christian. I feel everyone has the right to worship the way they want as long as they are not imposing their beliefs on others. (which is why you wont see Muslims knocking on peoples doors) I have learned much more my responsibilities to my family and how I must be tolerant with them and my neighbors and their rights on me etc... again a biased opinion, but that has been my experience.
you can always read the life of the prophet Muhammed SalliHIlahi wa salam and see if you thought him to be a tolerant man.
try islamway.com or islamicity they are pretty good
pray that helps
Tolerance isn't a strong suit of religion, nor should it be. Tolerance assumes there are things that are different that must be accepted. In that respect Christianity, in the forms found in the United States, has tolerated the incorporation of every religion and belief system in the world, and has developed more branches and types of Christianity that you could count. That's tolerance.
If you mean, do they tolerate things that are wrong by their standards, that's a fairly silly question. That's like asking a policeman to be tolerant of crime, or a fireman to be tolerant of fires, or a teacher to be tolerant of ignorance.
It would be foolish to expect tolerance of religion toward things that are detailed as "wrong" in their belief system. At the same time, the religion that is most tolerant of others is clearly Christianity, despite being intolerant of certain behaviors WITHIN their ranks.
It surprises me that the tolerance question is usually brought up by people who expect Christianity to change. Tolerance seems to go one way with such people.
I am not a Christian, not even religious. Just a student of all religions and belief systems, science, logic, philosophy.
Can you imagine burying a woman in the ground up to her neck and throwing small stones at her head until she is dead because she was deemed unchaste? Muslims don't seem to have a problem with it:
First off I am a Christian and my answer will probably shock you but regret ably none of the religions are tolerant of the other. Christianity believes in their way is the only way. Judaism, and Islam too believes their way is right the only thing Christians and Jews agree on is there is one God. but we disagree with Jesus being the son of God. the Islamic do not be live Jesus was the son of God neither do the Jews but the writing on the Mosque at the Dome of the Rock says there is no God only Allah. I believe we should be tolerant of each other and not trash their beliefs if we want to win them over.
Three religions are christian, Jewish, and Islam. Christian and Jewish are the more tolerant, of those two, Christianity is the most tolerant. Unfortunatley, they are all religions, and religions are started by men, not by God. Also, tolerance is subjective to what perspective your taking.
First of all, Catholicism and Protestantism are both the same religion. They are both branches of the Christian Faith.
There are not 3 religions in the world more like a dozen:
Christianity, Islam, Juadism, Hinduism, Sikhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Jainism, Rastafarian, Baha'i, Buddhism, Shinto, and one more I cant quiet remember, but begins with Zoro
Of all Religions, I think 2 in particular stand out as peaceful
I think Baha'i Faith as it is about Unity itself, regardless of belief, religion or man. Buddhism is about understanding and acceptance. Living a good life for living, and for peace.
Interesting on how neither of these religions rely on the concept of a God or Gods'. They are purely about living in harmony etc.
