I was raised in a Baptist church; but there are many different beliefs in Protestantism too.

Heaven and Hell
Once saved always saved
Only Christians go to heaven (this does not include Jews)
Must be baptized
There are no saints
There is no confession
There is a communion (grape juice, not wine)
Only two important holidays - Christmas and Easter
Trinity - father, son, holy spirit is three but also one
Alcohol is a sin
Sex before marriage is a sin
Homosexuality is a sin and homosexuals go to hell
Women can not be preachers
Women should not wear pants
The Bible is the word of god with no errors

It has been years since I was in a church but every Baptist church I went to was like this.

There are four types of Christianity; Roman Catholic, Gnostic, Orthodox, and Protestant.

The Romans were also devoutly religious like many people in the bible.
They believed in different gods, deities and images
The early Christains were protestant or protesters by oaring the bible God and Jesu Christ. This was risky with the Romans.
The eastern and western churches split, borders change, Orthodoz and Roman Catholics adopted inner church rules, policies and so forth.
People at one time want the Bible only available to wealthy and some religious groups.
The books of the bible some in copper, paper, Apr's paper, leather and other forms were compiled and hand written and later churches preached them all the more as the NE wer temples and building made copied texts availabkle for church leaders to relay the bible verbally, later in to print with again some major spats or arguments and even severe or ultimate pemalties to have the bible available to the nmasses or general population. Printing was not readily available.
So remarkably religious Jews, Cjhriostaians and otehrs translated the bible and compiled the bolks of Genesis and so forth to Rdevelations after a miraculous feat of unity .
So Jews too assisted the gentiles with translatives, helps of understanding and teaching unlike any other time in history to finally allow the process to further of printing, distributing the bible to the poor and all people.
Some books of teh prophets were rejected to the bible for reasons few know.
So the disenters were called Protestants that rejected the control of the Roman Catholic church as being the only church to be saved by God through Jesus Christ.
Various groups always seem to persecute teh Jews for their peculiar nature, ties to God Almighty and other factors of hate, resentment that harmed jews for thousands of years without any real sound reason.
They lived separately as God desired them to and he has also expects those in Christ to be similar in soem respects like Jews in satying away from unbelievrs.
Praise God for his goodness and love that we can share the bible, its study and our beliefs and interpratives right on this site. A miracle in itself by the grace of God.

The followers of Christ were inward reformers as God seemed to be the real source of change.

They believe in:

so la Scripture
saved by faith alone
personal interpretation of the Bible
they don't celebrate the 7 sacraments
they ignore the Blessed Mary and the rosary
they dint believe in purgatory
The Catholic Church has been around since Christ. Protestantism started in 1500
