There are Protestants in the rest of Ireland as well but the majority wound settling in Northern Ireland as a result of the Plantations, the Ulster Plantation of the 1600s was the most successful, the Scots Protestants who settled in Ulster were better equipped to make a go of it then those who settled other parts of the country

check history for that Dutch king of England and you will get all your answers. William of orange was a protestant that invaded Ireland after taking control of England and took with him Scottish noblemen and after he finished raping and pillaging the country he left these Brave protestant noblemen in command of the country that he stole, they in turn filled it with undesirables, English protestants, that is why today the protestants celebrate Orange day with all their marches upsetting decent people, going into catholic ares where they know that they are not welcome. get rid of these marches and you are halfway 2 getting peace

Because during the great Plantations after 1690, many Protestants from Scotland and Northern England were settled there.

That said, Protestants are not exclusive to Northern Ireland, there have been Protestants living all over the island for hundreds of years. Most towns have a Catholic and a Protestant church.

I notice that no one seems to remark upon the genocide of Protestants during and after the devilry administration in the new Republic. It has been noted by NATO and UNESCO as damaging as ta ht program carried out by Hitler against the Jewish religion.

Of course this will get many thumbs down, we Irish do like to think of ourselves as real lovely friendly diddly Dee types without a care in the world and try to ignore the injustices we visited upon others.

So - many Protestants are located in Northern Ireland because of two main situations:
1 The Plantation of Ulster and
2 The driving of the Protestants out of the Republic by the Republics own, vicious Penal code.
