To get back to the ideals of the first Christian church as described in the book of Acts.

In the early 1500's, there was a growing belief that the Catholic Church had become extremely corrupt. It was focused on money, and not on the beliefs. Rich men would pay their church, bishop OT priest, to absolve them of their sins, and for a passage to heaven (these were called indulgences). A German man Martin Luther (NOT Matin Luther King Jr.) led the rebellion against the church for taking these kickbacks.
This began the beginning of the Protestant Religion. (Protest-ant)
Throughout Europe the Reformation was different, and with the English Reformation, taking a different course than the rest of Europe.

In England...it started with King Henry VIII who wanted to continue divorcing his wives (which the Cathloic Church would not let him do) so he started the Church of England, and made himself the leader, Henry changed England to Protestant.
After Henry died, Mary changed England back to Catholic.
After Mary died, Elizabeth made England Protestant again, and lots of stuff happened.

England is still protestant today..

...sorry bout the end...i am tired..goodnight
