Has the history of intolerance, torture and murder in the name of Catholicism been ma
In condemning the inglorious history of the Catholic Church regarding it's abuses, particularly the Inquisitions and the support for the Conquistadories, the abuses by the Protestant Churches are often overlooked. The witch hunts being a case in point. Are there any branches of the rotten tree of Christianity which have not been involved in the widespread abuse of humanity?
BTW I am not a Christian of any denomination, NR do I belong to any other religion or religious congregation. I do not try to point the figure at God either, that would be so ridiculous.
Any time men come under the rule of Law instead of the Grace of God under the unction of the Holy Spirit, they are capable of doing abominable things.
No doubt great evils have been perpetrated in the name of almost every religion; but this is a work of the corrupt nature of man, not of the Holy Spirit of God.
Real believers have always been the target of religious men, who have dogma, but know nothing of the power of God to convert a sinner into a saint.
Who's counting & who cares? They are equally capable of getting their retaliation in first - & before you tell me who started it, explain why Catholics OR Protestants can take up arms if Jesus said Christians should turn the other cheek? Both take up arms. Both claim to be Christians.
You cannot blame God, it didn't direct human history. man chooses his own path, his actions, and thus his consequences are his own. If a sentient deity had such power to direct every course man took, all would be bowing before it, would they not? We can assume, because that is not so, that God, does not dictate such things. Even if you were to believe in a sentient God, it says he gave man free will.

As you have already mentioned, the Witch Hunts were really the same as the Inquisition, just on a smaller scale, though just as brutal. Then there was the constant ascensions of British Kings and Queens, who were either catholic, or Protestant, and who, with their crowning, slaughtered all those of the opposite denomination. Until religious tolerance, Spain tried to invade England because it's Queen was the head of Church of England. Well that was the religious excuse for the invasion. Then of course, King Henry, butchered some of his wives, creating the denomination purely so he could dictate what was holy and what was not.
If you study history you will find that the Catholic Church had very little to do with the Inquisitions other than trying to end them. The Inquisitions were secular in nature.
The Conquistadors were under the control of the Spanish government and not the Church. Again it was secular in nature.
So, these two examples have nothing to do with the Church and you are condemning falsely.
God bless!

Note:
Revisionist history tends to be fanciful beyond reason. In Medieval Europe there was less than 100 million people. How could the Church have killed everyone 1 1/2 times? I can't believe someone believed this nonsense.
Some of the most important things I've learned in life are that...number one, things are NOT always as they seem, number two, just because someone says they are something/someone.....a Christian, an Atheist, a Satanist, an airplane pilot, or my personal favorite...the male who after asking me, "Have you ever did any modeling?", tells me he is a photographer, does NOT necessarily mean that they are. Number three, just because I am a Christian does NOT mean that I have to join an organized band of bad people/thieves/devils/or just really GOOD people, since I know how to read for myself(*Thank God!*).....IOW, just because I am a Christian does NOT mean I have to belong to or agree with this pastor, this priest, or this denomination. Number four, people act as plants all the time; you know, kind of like how some Atheists/Christians come on here all the time and claim to be on the other side just to get a war, for lack of a better word, going. That's how I feel about that. Thank you & ~God bless!~
Definitely as have all religions that go to or send troops to war. They are all going against the 10 commandments one of which is You must not murder or Thou shalt not kill. These are also in the Torah and the Koran. Also Hitler was a devout Catholic.
the hierarchy guilty of the greatest number of atrocities ever is the dark haired people.
dark haired people have undeniably been involved in centuries of corruption and murder. members of the dark haired people are lead by evil leaders intent on evil. all of their members are evil. the evidence is undeniable even through the cover-ups. brown haired were the worst, the black hairs are also another branch of the rotten tree of dark haired people involved in the widespread abuse of humanity.
Hitler was no catholic. I'm a fighter pilot.
Protestants have not commit murder on the "Inquisition" scale but Jehovah God holds them more accountable for a serious spiritual error they made.
Protestants looked at the Catholic church and its corruption and twisted doctrines and decided they needed to split from the church in a spectacular way at the time.
Their problem was that when they had a golden opportunity to put Bible prophecy and teaching back on the right track after years of falsehood . . they blew it!.
Some false teachings and nepotism etc. were dropped . .but they rejected many more Bible commands and prophecies as 'not important'.
