Default Protestantism is Presbyterianism?

I've been looking into religion, and my mother has always been protestant, when we went to church it was a protestant church. but Ive been getting into religion on my own recently and I'm a little confused as to what makes protestantism different from Presbyterianism? from the websites Ive looked through it seems one and the same, but is it really? cause i thought they were different..
alright, i get that Presbyterianism is a segment of protestantism, but what makes it different? why aren't Presbyterians just protestant then?

Presbyterianism is just one denomination within the branch of Protestantism. The terms are NOT synonymous; Presbyterian refers to a specific Christian denomination, while Protestantism refers to any Christian denomination that came about because of the Protestant Reformation.

In math terminology, "Presbyterian" is a subset of "Protestant".

They are cut from the same cloth; they broke away from the Catholic church and then fragmented into many other schisms. Only the Jehovah's Witnesses can trace their origins to bible times.
