Default why do people talk against all sections of protestantism is they haven't studied them

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Am0.iqESkZvEJOjGDbplc8zsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid =20101228090247AAMyHxJ

near the bottom people have been saying protestantism picks and chooses what they teach which is a lie. there a re few Protestantism sects that do that but some are actually good. such as Baptists. they are the only denomination i know that follows so closely to the teachings of Christ

All true followers of Christ must believe in the commandment of love. Jesus says to hang all the teachings and the law on this commandment.

Anyone who teaches a Hell where people burn eternally obviously cannot believe in the commandment of love.

It's not so much picks and chooses, as it is about what they emphasize. Also, there are different interpretations of the same verse. For example, generally to Baptists speaking in tongues means God speaking in a different language through you. This could be a language you learned or not. Pentecostals on the other hand believe the speaking is a private language between the speaker and God. It just varies by who is doing the reading. Some sects even downplay the speaking in tongues thing altogether as something that doesn't happen anymore. Most of the difference in the sects of Protestantism are in the details and /or ceremonies. There are even splits withe the Sects IE Southern Baptist and Northern Baptist. Southern Baptists tend to be more fundamental, while Northern Baptists tend to be more liberal. All the beliefs are the same between them, but the details vary.

When people speak in generalities there is always room for error. In other words, exceptions always exist. Now since you are making claims about Baptists, I must assume that you too are speaking in generalities and if I put the effort in I could locate a Baptist who doesn't closely follow the teachings as your perceive them to be. I am also willing to bet that you yourself have not studied all of the protestant sects with any degree of depth and that you are or were a member of the Baptist sect.
