Default Which is really better and worthy to follow - Catholicism or Protestantism? And WHY?

If Protestantism, then what church in Protestantism?

I listen to Joyce Meyer sermons and read her books along with the Bible..I love it

But lately I am getting a feeling that I am becoming a too care-free Christian with "Already saved" , "Faith alone" attitude..

Am I lacking something that Catholicism teaches and does? Especially Catholic Mass, true presence of Jesus in Euchariast, Faith+works philosophies etc..
@Leviathan

Go away !!

"If Protestantism, then what church in Protestantism?"

The nice thing about Catholicism is, you don't have to choose between 30,000 denominations. And Catholicism came first.

Why don't you choose yourself? I mean, it's basically the same God, same Jesus, same Holy Spirit, and Catholicism give you the opportunity to confess your sins.

The practices are for a large part the same in the communions but vastly different in beliefs such as purgatory and indulgences and in their beliefs that stop the practice of the holy rosary and the other devotions that are so widespread in the catholic church.Practice the holy rosary for that practice will make you perfect.

Hears a blessing, and a our father prayed just for you.we love you all,the holy family.

Revelation 18:4 says, "Come out of her, my people." That is, leave all the half-baked, pick-and-choose theologies and be one of the remnant people who "keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus" (Rev. 12:17).

Maybe that's what you're missing. The smile of God as you move from grace to grace, glory to glory, closer to Himself and His ways.

it is my belief that we are saved by grace alone through faith alone our good works should be a result of our faith as we allow the Holy Spirit to live through us.

if you have asked the lord into your heart and are truly seeking the truth why don't you read the Bible and pray for God to reveal the truth to you;which he will do through his Holy Spirit as you seek him

You need to decide for yourself. The Catholics will story you their way, the Protestants will steer you theirs....and will both seem to have valid arguments. There is so much more to it than just "which one does more works or tradition or whatever". You need to look around, visit, and find where you feel the spirit of God moving and working in your life...you will know where you're supposed to be if you seek and not just ask!

Good Luck!

Follow Jesus.

Jesus and his first century followers preached the good news of God's Kingdom from city to city, village to village and house to house.

Jesus and his first century followers did not get involved in wars and politics.

Follow Jesus and associate with those today who are TRULY following him according to the pattern that he set and which was followed by first century Christians.

Way for Eternal Salvation
It is distinctly written in the Gospels, that the only way, for the redemption and salvation of our souls for eternal life is by our acceptance of Baptism, Absolution of sins and the eating of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.
By the grace of Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, the Catholic Priest is the only one who has the power to Baptize a person: absolve the sins of the faithful, when they disclose and repent all their sins, before him.
Also, the priest at every Mass, throughout the World, performs the Sacrifice of bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ as He commanded the Apostles to perform.
In light of what is written in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, why have all the Protestant denominations ignored these passages of the Bible and removed themselves from the only true way for Salvation of our souls?

The Catholic Church is the original Christian Church. All credible evidence from secular, historical, and patriotic evidence points to this. The Church canonized the Bible 1100 years before the emergence of protestants.

http://www.davidmacd.com/catholic/index2.htm

The Church is NOT the Whore of Babylon...that is just poor interpretation.

Also consider why so many protestant scholars and theologians have been converting to the Church in recent years; they study the evidence and conclude, often kicking and screaming, that the Catholic Church is indeed the Biblical and historical church.

I address this to Shirley:

"The Catholic Church has for centuries been identified as the beast of Revelation."

Yes, but only by stupid bigots.

Until you experience the Eucharist during the Mass...you have no idea what you are missing.

There is something so powerful, so mystical and so beautiful about being able to receive Christ in the Eucharist and truly feel His presence.

It's amazing. But I cannot make the choice.

Catholicism is not Christian. Catholicism cannot get anyone into heaven, because Catholicism teaches works for salvation, and that is a false gospel of works (Galatians 1:6-9) that is against JESUS'S free gift of salvation!

And Catholicism will not give you a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with Jesus, which is what JESUS wants with you!

So, you need to get away from Catholicism, and instead, to believe in JESUS for His free gift of eternal life in heaven! John 3:16! !

It's clear from the Book of Acts in the Bible that catholics didn't even exist during the days of Acts. And the SEVEN CHURCHES in Revelation, all of which existed before 100 AD, NONE of them were catholic! Catholicism didn't exist for over 300 years after Jesus. And Catholicism didn't exist for over 200 years after the Bible was complete and compiled. Those in the Book of Acts are the first Christians, and they believed what would be called fundamentalist doctrine today. ANYONE can read the Book of Acts for themselves and see. Had Catholicism existed during the time of Acts, the first Christians would have rejected Catholicism completely.

Also there's TONS of Christians who also completely rejected Catholicism, long before Martin Luther was even born. Catholicism murdered millions and millions of Christians. :*(

So not only is it wrong for anyone to say that "catholics were the first Christians", but this blows away the catholic claim that "no churches existed other than the catholic church, until Martin Luther".

Every "pope" is a false prophet. And there is no "pope" in the Bible.

There were ALWAYS saved believers outside the catholic cult, who knew Catholicism cannot save anyone.

Catholicism cannot save. Only believing in Jesus for His free gift of salvation, is what saves!

So, catholics need to get away from Catholicism, and instead, to believe in JESUS for His free gift of eternal life in heaven!

Jesus is God, and Jesus loves you so very much! And the Trinity is true!

The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to hell, is by believing in JESUS for His free gift of eternal life in heaven, believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died on the cross for all our sins as FULL PAYMENT for all our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe in Jesus for His free gift of salvation, and you will be in heaven, no matter what! John 3:16, John 6:47!

Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in JESUS for His free gift of salvation! It is impossible to lose or "leave" salvation (John 6:39-40, John 10:28, 1 John 5:13).

Please pray now: "Jesus, I believe that You died on the cross to pay for my sins and that You rose from the dead, and I thank You for eternal life!" You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die!

Protestantism is like having a boat in the desert.....It might look good but it wont get you any where.

The Catholic Church is the Church of the bible and the one true Church of God.

Peace be with you

<<<Devout Catholic>>>
.
.
One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.

~~The Church is Visible

Jesus said his Church would be "the light of the world." He then noted that "a city set on a hill cannot be hid" (Matt. 5:14). This means his Church is a visible organization. It must have characteristics that clearly identify it and that distinguish it from other churches. Jesus promised, "I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it" (Matt. 16:18). This means that his Church will never be destroyed and will never fall away from him. His Church will survive until his return.

Among the Christian churches, only the Catholic Church has existed since the time of Jesus. Every other Christian church is an offshoot of the Catholic Church. The Eastern Orthodox churches broke away from unity with the pope in 1054. The Protestant churches were established during the Reformation, which began in 1517. (Most of today?s Protestant churches are actually offshoots of the original Protestant offshoots.)

If we wish to locate the Church founded by Jesus, we need to locate the one that has the four chief marks or qualities of his Church. The Church we seek must be one, holy, catholic, and apostolic.

~~The Church Is "One"

(Rom. 12:5, 1 Cor. 10:17, 12:13, CCC 813?822)
Jesus established only one Church, not a collection of differing churches (Lutheran, Baptist, Anglican, and so on). The Bible says the Church is the bride of Christ (Eph. 5:23?32). Jesus can have but one spouse. His Church also teaches just one set of doctrines, which must be the same as those taught by the apostles (Jude 3). This is the unity of belief to which Scripture calls us (Phil. 1:27, 2:2).

~~The Church Is "Holy"

(Eph. 5:25?27, Rev. 19:7?8, CCC 823?829)
By his grace Jesus makes the Church holy, just as he is holy. This dozen?t mean that each member is always holy. Jesus said there would be both good and bad members in the Church (John 6:70), and not all the members would go to heaven (Matt. 7:21?23).

~~The Church Is "Catholic"

(Matt. 28:19?20, Rev. 5:9?10, CCC 830?856)
Jesus? Church is called catholic ("universal" in Greek) because it is his gift to all people. He told his apostles to go throughout the world and make disciples of "all nations" (Matt. 28:19?20).

For 2,000 years the Catholic Church has carried out this mission, preaching the good news that Christ died for all men and that he wants all of us to be members of his universal family (Gal. 3:28).

The Church Jesus established was known by its most common title, "the Catholic Church," at least as early as the year 107, when Ignatius of Antioch used that title to describe the one Church Jesus founded. Ignatius was a disciple of St. John the apostle.

~~The Church Is "Apostolic"

(Acts 1:23-26, Eph. 2:19?20, CCC 857?865)
The Church Jesus founded is apostolic because he appointed the apostles to be the first leaders of the Church, and their successors were to be its future leaders. The apostles were the first bishops, and, since the first century, there has been an unbroken line of Catholic bishops faithfully handing on what the apostles taught the first Christians in Scripture and oral Tradition (2 Tim. 2:2).

Jesus assured the apostles and their successors, the popes and the bishops, "He who listens to you listens to me, and he who rejects you rejects me" (Luke 10:16). Jesus promised to guide his Church into all truth (John 16:12?13).

I've actually got a mental deficiency, so I can't comment. But I know this much...

Mormonism is Christian. So is Catholicism. Easy believes cannot get anyone into heaven, because easy believes teaches so la Scripture, and that is a heretical doctrine which is itself umbilical. I keep trying to prove that Catholicism teaches a false gospel of works (Galatians 1:6-9) that is against JESUS'S free gift of salvation, but since I know so little about the Bible and what it teaches, I fall on my face every time.

"Purgatory" is not in the Bible. Oh, wait? actually it IS, in 2 Maccabees and other places I keep choosing to ignore, but I don't like to acknowledge facts so I'll continue to pretend that Purgatory doesn't exist.

And Catholicism and Mormonism will not give you a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with me, because I don?t like real Christians.

So, you need to get away from easy believes, and instead, to believe in JESUS for His free gift of eternal life in heaven! John 3:16! !

So to be in heaven and not in hell, believe in exactly what I believe, RIGHT NOW! Any other belief, Christian or not, will send you to HELL. THAT'S RIGHT HELL! LOL!

Heaven is eternal joy knowing you never need to read my hate posts ever again!

The truth about me is that I make a fool of myself EVERY DAY on this forum, over and over, thinking I can buy JESUS's free gift of salvation with lies, bigotry and hatred. I don't care if I spam this board or not and annoy people and upset JESUS! (John 11:35).

Believe in Jesus in the exact way I do, or you will go to HELL, because MY belief is the only SAVED belief.

Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in ME for MY free gift of salvation! It is impossible to lose or "leave" salvation (John 6:39-40, John 10:28, 1 John 5:13).

Please pray now: "Jesus, I believe that Yahoo Answers has put up with Chris's hateful rants and babblings for far too long, and I pray that you suspend his current account and all future accounts until he he can learn to be respectful on public forums."

Feel free to email me if you need more help: chr37899@yahoo.com

You said the Trinity is true.
Catholics have a Trinity also. is the trinity you say is true the same one as us Catholics use or are they different in some way.
Come, come let's have an answer or are you scared to answer. maybe you don't have an answer.
