There are many differences. Protestantism and Orthodoxy are separated by one specific acceptance, that the Holy Eucharist celebrated at the Holy Mass, is truly the body and blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ as done during the last supper. Orthodoxy continues to carry this very blessed Sacrament onward.

in Eastern Orthodox Church:
- Tradition and Scripture are basis (did you know that until 4Th century there wasn't such a thing as New Testament, all was explained using Holy Tradition)
- Christ is the Head of The Church
- Real presence of Christ in Eucharist
- Mary is the Mother of God
- Saints can pray for us before God
- Icons are venerated because they are images of God
- Baptism and other sacraments for infants
- no female Priests
- It's the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church founded by the Apostles on the Pentecost

Which brand of Protestantism are you referring to? There are thousands of Protestant denominations, with doctrinal differences that range from the very minor to the outrageously major. Some have absolutely no difference from some others, but they remain independent because the leader does not want to be accountable to anyone else for the soundness of his teaching. If you don't agree with the leader, you can start a new church.

And this is one of the main differences between Orthodoxy and Protestantism. The Orthodox Church holds the same views and practices Christianity the same way it did 1500 years ago. For me, longevity and stability say a lot.

There is one Eastern Orthodox Church, with various national and ethnic expressions (Greek, Russian, Antiochian, Bulgarian, Romanian, Georgian, American, etc.), but we are ONE church, holding the same beliefs, and practicing the same Faith.
