Protestants reject the Pope as God's appointed leader of the church.

Catholicism--along with Orthodoxy--has Apostolic Succession.

Protestantism started in the 15'Th century & therefore does not have Apostolic Succession.

Protestants don't elevate the disciples other humans or the "virgin" Mary up to the level of demo-gods (saints).

The Catholic church has grown increasingly more liberal in the past 100 years. A lot of Catholic clergy now accept evolution and the big bang. A lot of protestants do not.

Also, Catholic mass is extremely ritualistic. Protestant church tends to be more basic with just a few readings from scripture and a few hymns.

Protestants see the Pope as god's mouthpiece on earth. However, the doctrine of Papal infallibility has only been around for a couple of hundred years.

Protestants don't see the need for an earthly intercessor.

Catholic actually means "all-inclusive"; now isn't that arrogant.

Protestantism is not a single church, it is all other Christians.

Saying that Catholics are united and Protestants are divided is like saying that London is united but Britain is divided.

And of course, neither of them is united. Just watch the news or read the Catholic Herald.

The Catholic church teaches traditions and the head of the church is the Pope.

These are just a few of the traditions. There are tons more.
The papacy, worship / adoration of Mary (or the immaculate conception of Mary, the perpetual virginity of Mary, the assumption of Mary, or Mary as co-radiometric and matrix), petitioning saints in Heaven for their prayers, apostolic succession, the ordinances of the church functioning as sacraments, infant baptism, confession of sin to a priest, purgatory, indulgences.

The Protestant church teaches Scripture and the head of the church is Jesus Christ.
