Default What is the connection between Lutheranism and Protestantism?

Whats the connection between the 2? And what does Martin Luther's teachings have to do with them?

Protestantism is a larger category of which Lutherans are a part.

Other sects/denominations that belong in Protestantism are Methodists, Calvinists, Baptists, Congregationalists, Episcopalians, Presbysterians, Pentacostals, etc.

Lutheranism is a protestant denomination originated by Martin Luther.
