The united Church of Christ gets my vote.
I am deeply disturbed by the mainstream religious community NOT publicly condemning United church of CHRIST ordained/sanctified "minister" Jeremiah Wright's, "No, no, no, NOT God Bless America; Gd America" highly public proclamations which were made from a pulpit during a worship service in, a heretofore thought of, mainstream US religion. Not only could the proclamations or UCC ordained "minister" Jeremiah Wright be considered sedition during time of war, but also maybe even treason. These statements also blatantly violate the "idolatry" [valuing political power over God's power] and "using the Lord's name in vain" clauses of the Christian Ten Commandments. Anti-American and anti-Christian behavior and in actions virtually ignored equals what type values and value systems being actually promoted and/or valued?
Comparing this UCC ordained "minister" Jeremiah Wright proclamations ignore[e]ance and silence to the Trent Lott, Macaca,Don Imus, ET AL. gaffes or comments and the mainstream media "out crays" and continual coverage at least in appearance appears to also have racial overtones. This is disturbing. Racism is racism. UnChristian actions and inaction is UnChristian. Anti-Americanism in time of war is sedition. In this case I do not believe silence is either golden or the right action. Who was Wright "ministering to"?
I would find the answer to this question broadly culturally relevant.
I also find the apparent press media's double and triple tiered "morality" standards for the political and "religion" class [Jesse Jackson and Bill Clinton can both be public religious adulterers and not lose their media stature and access are but two examples], the sports and music class celebrity, the movie industry celebrity, and the television celebrity vs. the common regular people of any class and/or income bracket.
