In fact we find once again that the Qur?an actually makes a claim of preservation. There are numerous verses that make this claim, the most definitive being:

"We have without doubt, send down the message; and We will assuredly guard it(from corruption)." The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 15, Verse 9

In this verse, Allah promises that He Himself has taken on the responsibility of preserving the Qur?an. Unlike the Rabbis and Priests to whom the responsibility of preserving the previous scriptures was given, Allah is of course free of faults and perfectly able to guard His Word.

Heresy is hardly dead. The Latin Heresy, otherwise known as Catholisism, is all too alive.

How dare you call Islam and Protestantism a heresy??!!! Actually I am Christian but then i think calling Islam and Protestantism some sort of heresy is preposterous.. they have their own set of beliefs, just let them be.. and besides, regarding your question, it just so happens these so-called "heretics" of yours are really bastards and so difficult to crack.. ciao!

Good question. Time for all religious belief to be assigned to the historical trash heap where it belongs.

Heresy was invented by the Catholic Church to stymie debate about doctrine because they were making so much money from the existing power structure.

So, "heretic" is a subjective word which doesn't carry any weight except inside the established church amongst those who fear its power to damn.

By the time protestantism arose, changes in the political structure had deprived the church of the ability to simply torture and kill anybody who showed any signs of 'deviant' thinking. So, they had to go to war, instead... and the did not win.

Islam is not a heresy. A heresy is a deviation from dogma. Muslims never shared the christian dogma in the first place... so Islam is no more a heresy than is Hindism or Incan beliefs.

Say... I've been noticing... you don't know very much, do you? All of your questions seem to be comprised of misconceptions and/or logical fallacies... and they seem to be designed to provoke emotional responses, rather than reasoned discourse. And it seems that you don't actually READ the answers that you get, because you certainly haven't learned anything from them. Since it is highly unlikely that anyone could REALLY be as ignorant and stupid as you APPEAR to be, I am forced to conclude that you are not REALLY ignorant and stupid, at all... you're just PRETENDING to be ignorant and stupid, for some unknown (and probably perverse) reason. I must confess, though, that I find it hard to understand why anybody would do that... unless there are mental health issues involved, of course.

WHEN did "most heresies" die and where did they go? GOSH!! NO ONE TOLD ME!!! Drat! I have SUCH a short grapevine! No one EVER tells me what's going on! Shoot! DARN!!! Why doesn't anyone ever tell me these things? I was JUST about to go out and protest all those heresies, and NOW THIS... most of them are GONE now!!

Oh... but the two "BIGGIES" are still around? WOW!!! WHO defined them as heresies? By whose standards? Why just these two? What happened to the REST of Christianity? Are JUST the Protestants heretics? What about the Catholics? They're NOT heretics? What happened to Shintoism? Buddhism? Hinduism?? Rastafarianism? Scientology? Mormonism? Jehovahs Witnesses?

Are we being a tad EXCLUSIONARY here? How about Democrats and Republicans? SURELY THEY must be heretics!!

Dictionary -
An opinion or a doctrine at variance with established religious beliefs, especially dissension from or denial of Roman Catholic dogma by a professed believer or baptized church member.

What it originally meant -
Middle English heresies, from Old French, from Late Latin heresies, from Late Greek heresies, from Greek, a choosing, faction, from hairiest,AIo choose, middle voice of hairein, to take.]

I find it funny when a group changes the meaning of word to suit them in order to put others down based on their own understanding and then claiming it as Gods understanding. lol
