Do Restorationists believe the Church was in hiding for centuries?

When I say "Restorationists" I am referring to those also called Campbellites and who now go by the name "Churches of Christ", "Disciples of Christ", etc. Also, I'm interested to know how many other denominations make this claim.
Yes, I think some do believe the Church was actually "apostate" for centuries, hence the term "restorations". I think the group that believes the Church was in hiding is different from the restorations. Not sure.

Mormons, too, believe they've restored original Christianity, but I don't know if they believe that the church has been in hiding.

edit: yes, I heard of that too. it's so silly actually knowing that there's no historical basis to back-up their claim.

We don't believe it was hiding, we know that the authority was lost with the death of the Apostles. They were killed before they could pass on the authority of the a Priesthood, through the laying on of hands, to others and confirm other Apostles. They did at first, but it didn't last. The Priesthood authority and the constant companion of the Holy Ghost were taken from the earth. All things have been restored in these last days through prophets. God has always spoken through prophets and once again does.

Jesus said that I will build my "Church"! I do not believe that the church was ever in hiding! The church is not something built by man! The church is a people that God has separated for his will! It is made up of prophets, apostles, pastors, teachers, etc. It was and is not a building a certain group of believers. It is those who live and breath the Holy Spirit! Even Peter wanted to put the anointing of God in a temple! You can not box God!
