What will change in the Church in the coming decades? Will priests be allowed to marry? Will woman be able to become priests? Will membership increase? Will it Decline? What do you want to see happen? What do you NOT want to see happen? What do you predict will happen? I think that the next 50 years will be very interesting, exciting, trying, and inspiring for the church.

A maxi um of only 3 hail Mary's per sin.

They will probably install ATM machines and use swipe credit card baskets.

I think the church will remain true to the faith, even if it costs many leaving it.

I think they will require direct deposit!

I expect the Catholic Church and the Magisterium will grind on as usual as long as Ratzinger's still in charge as Pope, membership will continue to be in a SLOW decline and you will always have people who call themselves Catholic who will do stuff that defies the Magisterium and the Pope and so on, in various ways. Not much new or different.

If the sincere people come to understand how much the church has been keeping from them IE' that Constantine and a group of scribes misconstrued everything at the Council of Nicea. Then It will have to fall altogether and start over. go to gospelofthenazirenes. for the original New Testament before Constantine changed everything.

I would hope to see that they let their Preists marry but that is unlikely because then they wont leave their money to the church when they die.

I hear a lot of talk about naming Mary "Co Redemtrix" so they might do that.

I think we will see a rise in conservative catholic beliefs. I hope to see a more informed youth and less criticism of our beliefs. I hope that the church does not allow priests to marry as I think that could split the church.

Will priests be allowed to marry? Some priest are already allowed to be married. Anglican and Episcopalian priests that convert and are already married are allowed to be Catholic priests and stay married (this however only strengthens the conservative line of the church as the reason these priest convert is over their Churches ordaining women). The population that is already unmarried priests maybe, but not likely.

Will woman be able to become priests? No that will take quite a while yet as it will never happen under the conservative influences we have now.

Will membership increase or will it Decline? Stay about the same I would suspect with allowances for population growth, but relatively the same percentage of population.

What do you want to see happen? That they will stop reversing the reforms made in Vatican II. A new Pope not out of this school of thought that is currently running the Church. One more in line with John XIII, Pope Paul VI or John Paul I (does anyone even remember there was a John Paul I)

What do you NOT want to see happen? The conservatives continue getting their way and practicing creeping infallibility

What do you predict will happen? We will have to deal with this arch conservative influence for quite awhile longer before it will turn back around.

Impossible most priest do not leave there money to the Church when they die.

i think that the catholic church should not deviate on her teachings regarding priests marrying,women priests etc.....for the catholic church to remain catholic and hold to the truth it has always had then we must stand proud and firm about matters that should not change because of society or cultural influences,if we do not then we make a mockery of the church given to us by Jesus. i strongly hope the church maintains its moral and truth filled teachings and disciplines. i would like to see the church increase its activity by evangelizing on a broader basis to the public by whatever means necessary. Ewan.com is doing a good job so far but not enough people are aware of it and its television and radio broadcast. i long for our separated brothers and sisters in Christ to either return home or convert to the one and holy catholic church. i also hope that the current scandals can be dealt with swiftly and effectively and that such instances become more isolated and wiped out completely. it is a burden to the truth of the church and is keeping many people further away and ridiculing the church. it is a matter that needs to be dealt with and not ignored. hopefully we will not have to deal with it much longer. god bless.

i don't think it will happen in my lifetime but i do wish they would allow priests to marry and for women to become priests.i also wish they would hold those guilty of pedophilia accountable for their actions. i love many of the traditions of the catholic faith and i know they are Turing to preserve many of them but i sometimes wonder if they are living in the dark ages. and, yes, i am catholic.
