Default Develop a short but precise history of the Roman Catholic Church and its influence on

from the beginnings with Peter and Paul, via the Church Fathers, to the High Middle Ages. Explain Augustine's model of earthly and heavenly order, mention highlights of history and their meaning to the present.

This sounds an awful lot like an essay you need to write for homework. I suggest you read up on the Catholic Church. Also, make sure you read the true story of the Catholic Church. Don't take the previous poster's assertions at face value. The church has done as much damage as good.

A few things (in addition to leading billions to Christ) where the Catholic Church has made the world a better and brighter place are:
+ Relief from the Barbarian invasions of the early middle ages
+ Rescued Christian and Prue-christian literature
+ Condemned slavery since 1435
+ Spread agricultural and animal husbandry knowledge
+ Started and protected universities
+ Sponsored and supported science and medicine
+ Created International Law theory
+ Developed and sponsored modern economic theory
+ Invented charity as we know it
+ Codified, expanded, and improved Western Law
+ Developed Western Morality
+ Created just war theory
+ Sponsored and influenced music, art and architecture
+ Developed the concept of inalienable rights

I suggest you read the book "How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization" by Thomas E. Woods, Jr. http://www.catholiceducation.org/articles/history/world/wh0101.html

With love in Christ.

A "short but precise history" of an institution that's a couple millenniums old? Is that even possible?
