Well molly, I can tell you this. I be live that the catholics are taught from a young age to conform to a set doctrine. Sacrements are a big part of that. I was born and raised in a catholic family, i am no longer catholic. however i am a christian and be live in Jesus with all my heart, the sacraments are important. But being baptized as a baby does not give you the choice as an adult the chance to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. I just feel that you should have the choice so it comes from your heart, not by a set of rules you don't understand. Being baptized is a very very important sacrament. that's just one example i can point out. The important thing is seek out and get answers. I am glad to see you asking. It shows your interested. that's a good thing. Good luck in your search.
The Sacraments are at the center of our Catholic Christian lives. To lead a sacramental life means to pray with the Church in practicing the sacraments. You first are welcomed into the Church with the Sacrament of Baptism. Confirmation is a renewal of those Baptismal vows, becoming more full in the Church. Of course the Sacraments of Confession and Eucharist are vital to the life of a Catholic. We become enriched with graces through these sacraments by allowing God to work in our lives. It is our way of meeting Heaven. Living a Sacramental Life is leading a life enriched by Holy Mother the Church.
