Are members of the Orange Order allowed in Roman Catholic Churches?
Hi there, just wanting some info for my religion homework,
are members, or past members, of the Orange Order allowed to enter Roman Catholic Churches, or be present during mass?
I didn't realize there was any such problem, but one of my friends claims otherwise
thanks
Yes, everyone is welcome to attend mass and the Parable of The Good Samaritan is read often in the Catholic church pretty well says it all about welcoming those who differ with you.
The Orange Order is a protestant organization which prohibits Catholics from joining.
If fact, they will be banned from their own organization if they attend ANY Catholic service.
That's why so many protested against the Pope visiting England. It's basically anti-Catholic.
Anywho, the Roman Catholic Church doesn't ban anyone from attending Mass, so if they left, SURE. They could attend it if they wanted to.
The Catholic church is open to all who seek to worship God but not everyone can receive the holy Eucharist as Catholics can and do,the question however would be would members of the Orange Order even contemplate entering a Catholic church when Mass is being offered! it was not so long ago that the order strictly forbid it`s members from associating with Catholicism at any level.
Has this changed?
