Default Why can a Byzantine Catholic be the Pastor of a Roman Catholic parish?

Because the entire religion is bogus, thus anyone can do anything, provided they are skilled in BS.

Because Byzantines don't enjoy molesting kids and covering it up, I guess they are not in with the stupid Catholic crap.

There is a real shortage of priests at this time.
Maybe nobody else wanted the job.

Because the only differences between Catholics and Orthodox are political and not theological.

"Byzantine" and "Roman" are two Rites from the same ONE Church.

Catholic is Catholic is Catholic is Catholic. It is *one* Church. While a priest in the Byzantine Rite will likely stay at a Byzantine Rite parish, he can be assigned elsewhere. I know a Maronite Rite priest who served many years at a Latin Rite parish.

Likewise, people raised in the Latin Rite can got to a Byzantine Rite parish, and vice verse.

Second, the term "Roman Catholic" is generally only used in English speaking countries as it was derived by English Protestants as an insult. The term is "Latin Rite" which in an of itself is a broad term (and may cause people to believe that it is all "in Latin").
