Hitler was raised Roman Catholic. Later he practiced the Occult and worshiped the stars and astrology. Does that make him a Christian or a Pagan? Would you say that Hitler's religious upbringing played a part in his anti-Semitics? Did he gain more sympathy from Catholics in Germany and Europe? Did the Nazis utilize the occult in their rise to power and conquest of Europe?
Some Germans and Europeans believed that Hitler was the Second Coming of the Messiah. A duality between Christ coming to judge and Satan to execute the judgment. This is foretold in the Book of Revelation.
Charles Manson's followers believed that Manson was both Christ and Satan.

I love how Christians always try to distance them self from "the Occult." They speak of it like it has some mystic evil to it...

Occult practices are generally just an offshoot of mainstream Christian beliefs, much the same as Satanism, Mormonism, or Jehovah's Winesses. In fact, Christianity itself is just a spin off of Judaism.
