1. The pope's head is not shaped like his hat.
2. Jesus loves you.
3. We are his visible church in communion with the saints.
4. The wafer and wine are the body and blood of Christ.
We confess our sins to one another James 5:16.
Other than that, just act natural.
Why do u wanna dive in to hell so u wanna start worship ping the god's prophet but not the creator how stupid are you? Your a Muslim by birth u have lost Ur path now u need to revert to Islam the way of life u will be saved from hell fire.
Well, I don't think it's hard to do if you can overcome your ego and ask the Holy Spirit for courage to say what needs to be said. In case you forget your prayers, they're usually taped to the sill of the window between you and the priest. I think the Roman Catholics don't have that window any more. You can just sit and talk to them face to face, but I guess I'm old school. The places I've been in were sound-proofed!
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, so that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
Yet Roman Catholicism says that your works DO contribute to your salvation. They teach a different Gospel, and thus according to Scripture in Galatians 1, they are accursed. It seems you should study the Bible more before deciding to make such a decision.
I see the Papists are coming through giving thumbs down to people who dare question Romanism using the Bible. Some things never change. Oh yeah, except that they don't have the wordily power to burn Christians anymore like they used to.
We need to make sure we are following the Word of God, over the traditions of men and added doctrines which God never instituted. Make sure you have an accurate version of the Bible. I prefer the KJV, accompanied along with a Greek and Hebrew Lexicon. Make sure you have a firm grasp of the teachings of the Bible, before choosing to join any denomination. How are we to recognize if the truth is being preached, if we are not aware of what the truth is? Especially in these times, God wants our faith and trust firmly planted in Him. http://www.libertybaptistchurch.org.au/bookstore/NIVOmissions.pdf
You shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall you diminish [ought] from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. (Deuteronomy 4:2)
Every word of God [is] pure: he [is] a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add you not to his words, lest he reprove you, and you be found a liar. (Proverbs 30:5-6)
The words of the LORD [are] pure words: [as] silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. (Psalms 12:7)
What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. (Deuteronomy 12:32)
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed. (Galatians 1:8)
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4)
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed; And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:31-32)
The man that wanders out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead. (Proverbs 21:16)
And these things, brothers, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that you might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another. (1 Corinthians 4:6)
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:20-21)
He is in the way of life that keeps instruction: but he that refuses reproof errs. (Proverbs 10:17)
He that rejects me, and receives not my words, has one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. (John 12:48)
Whosoever transgressed, and abideThot in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. (2 John 1:9)
If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained. (1 Timothy 4:6)
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished to all good works. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Sanctify them through your truth: your word is truth. (John 17:17)
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. (Colossians 2:8-9)
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. (Matthew 24:25)
hi you shouldn't convert to roman Catholicism. if you read the early church fathers and the early church history you will realize that Rome separated himself from the true church, which is the Orthodox church. in early years of the Church; the church was one, it was the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church but the bishop of Rome wanted supremacy over the other bishops. In the orthodox church every bishop is equal just as the apostles had teach. the bishop of Rome made new doctrines that were against the Tradition of the apostles, so in the 1500s the roman church separated from the orthodox. this is the problem with roman catholics
the supremacy of the pope
the foliage
the doctrine of purgatory
the immaculate conception of Mary
the statues in church
pray to Mary and the saints as if they were like gods
their view of the trinity
the wrongful way of the sacraments
like i say every bishop is equal no matter what rank he has bishops, metropolitan, archbishops, and patriarchs are all equal.
the foliage is the addition that the pope made to the creed " i believe in the holy spirit, who proceed from the father and the son" the original it says " I believe in the holy spirit, who proceed from the father"
the purgatory is not a teaching of the apostles nor the church, but from the popes
in the church is against the 2ND commandment of God to bow to idols, in the orthodox church we dint have statues we have icons or images for teaching but worship.
now you second question in the roman church they say the priest forgive you sins, in the orthodox church the priest cannot frogive sins only God, you still have to confess your sins to the priest but he will ask god to forgive your sins for a human does not havesuch power.
the orthodox church is the church that has follow the teaching of the holy apostles without taking or adding to their teaching.
I hope i was some help for you, if you have any questions about this you could contact me ecupatriarchate or look it in google and you will see that the orthodox church is the true and original Catholic church.
I'm not sure I could name 10. The Catholic church is very big on sacraments and traditions. Going to confession isn't difficult. The hard part is dealing with the guilt and admitting you did wrong. Catholics believe in Transubstansiation, which means the bread and wine really become Bread and Body of Christ. There are way too many things to go over. But those are the main differences between Catholicism and other Catholic churches. I highly recommend you speak to priests and have them ask some members to speak to you. If you're really interested, you can join an RCIA class.
You remind me of a recent Baptist convert to Catholicism - Steve.K. Ray. Steve was born and brought up in a devout Baptist family. He and his wife Janet never even set foot in a Catholic Church until the day after they decided to join. Janet Ray, was raised in the Presbyterian faith.
New Year?s Eve 1993 was the turning point. The Rays spent the evening with friends with whom they ended up in theological discussions. The first announcement they made of their conversion was to friends Al and Sally Kresta, whose family had converted to Catholicism the year before. The Krestas invited the Rays to attend Mass with them.
?It never dawned on us we would have to go to Mass,? Janet said. ?We thought we could just be Catholic in our heads.?
The Rays decided to leave their children at home when they accompanied the Krestas to Christ the King Church in Ann Arbor.
?We cried through the whole Mass,? Janet Ray said. ?I had never heard the Gospel more clearly proclaimed as in the Mass.?
As strongly convinced as the couple was about their new faith, their parents and children were not.
?I wan?t so sure about it,? Jesse Ray explained. ?I knew my grandparents were Christian and that they were going to heaven so I said, ?I don?t want to become Catholic, I just want to stay what Grandma and Grandpa are.??
Cindy Ray admitted, ?I did?t particularly want to become Catholic, but I wan?t really adamant in any direction.? Of her parents? decision she said, ?I thought they were crazy but . . . by the time I decided to become Catholic, it was a lot because I could see how much they were doing and I figured they had to be right.?
For Cindy and Jesse Ray now, joining the Church has made a world of difference. ?I think it has changed everything,? Cindy Ray stressed. ?It?s changed things in knowing what is right and wrong and wanting to follow what?s right. Having absolutes makes a big difference. Going to church every Sunday as a family makes a big difference.?
Steve Ray said his children appreciate the stability and authority of the Church, even though it is tougher to be a Catholic. ?The Catholic Church is tough because it says, this is the truth,? he noted. ?We?re not going to change it for the next generation that come along, just because a generation becomes lax in it?s morals?. God dozen?t change, neither should His truth change.?
So coming to the question, the Catholics base everything on scripture and tradition, work and faith and the sacraments and all of these are Biblicaly approved. That is all what you need to know.
I'm sorry, but I just can't answer this question. I'm just thinking how odd it is that you've decided to make a decision to join a group and THEN ask what that group is all about. That's backwards. You need to find out what they're about and THEN decide if you want to join them.
The main doctrinal differences you should know before converting to Catholicism:
*1. Catholics believe that after the Fall in the Garden of Eden, some original innocence and goodness remained in humanity while much of Protestantism (e.g. Presbyterianism, Lutheranism, Methodism, Baptists, Assemblies of God, Pentecostalism) teaches that humanity became totally depraved.
*2. Catholics: The bread and wine in the Eucharist are miraculously, and mysteriously, changed in to the Body and Blood of Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. Protestants believe there is no change and that Christ's presence is symbolic (though many Anglicans do believe there is a change)
*3. Catholics: believe that only Catholics are permitted to partake of the Eucharist. Protestants practice "Open Communion" that expressly welcomes all believers to the Lord's table, regardless of denomination.
*4. Catholics: There are seven sacraments (holy moments): Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation, Marriage, Ordination, Reconciliation/Confession and Anointing of the Sick. Protestants have only 2 sacraments: Baptism and Eucharist (though some Anglicans also believe in seven)
*5. Catholics: It is Christ's will that there be 3 types of minister in the Church: bishops, presbyters/priests and deacons. Protestants sometimes have deacons but no presbyters/priests or bishops. A citation is needed for this thought, because most Christian churches have pastors/priests.
*6. Catholics: The saints are worthy of both honor and respect due to their fidelity to Christ. Catholics do not pray to saints, but ask saints to pray for them just as they would ask any person of faith for prayer. For Catholics, saint's physical bodies may be dead, but they are spiritually with Christ. Protestants do not ask saints for prayer because they believe that only Christ can intercede with God the Father. Most non-Catholic Christians also view the practice of praying to saints as idolatry.
*7. Catholics: The greatest saint is Mary, Mother of Jesus. Mary was so full of love for God that she did not sin (Immaculate Conception). Protestants respect Mary as Jesus' mother but believe that she sinned like any other person. They believe that Mary was entirely human, and not holy.
*8. Catholics: Because she did not sin, Mary's resurrected body was taken into heaven immediately after her death (the Assumption). Protestants believe Mary's body was buried, but where is the proof of what happened to her body?
*9. Catholics believe that only a person perfectly open to God can enter heaven; thus, when someone dies the sinfulness left inside is purged (Purgatory) by God's love. Purgatory is not a place but an experience. Protestants do not accept the doctrine of cleansing/legation but say that a soul goes immediately to either heaven or hell.
*10. Catholics: The Bishop of Rome (pope) is the spiritual leader of the Church (Christ is the Head), as this is Christ's will. Protestants do not accept the pope as spiritual leader, although some non-Catholics (e.g. Anglicans) have their own spiritual leader.
