Default I hate being a ROman Catholic! Is there any way I can get out of this?

I was Baptized as a Protestant, and have always been a Protestant, along with most of America. However, my mother forced me to go to CCD at a Church that I had hated every single day of my life. I broke my arm there, got sick there, fainted, and was ridiculed by the members who despised me.

Reason she wants me to go: because I may not get a scholarship to St. Johns University, a place I have no intentions of going to.

For a description of christian service, I said I was working at my church's library. My parents grounded me for a month because I wasn't working at my church apparently. MY church became the Roman Catholic one, and the protestant one I had been going to was never to be mentioned again.

How do I get out of this......

Stop being catholic. That is what you need. Catholicism cannot get anyone into heaven, because Catholicism teaches works for salvation, and that is a false gospel of works (Galatians 1:6-9) that is against JESUS'S free gift of salvation!

And Catholicism will not give you a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with Jesus, which is what JESUS wants with you!

So, you need to get away from Catholicism, and instead, to believe in JESUS for His free gift of eternal life in heaven! John 3:16!

Jesus is God, and Jesus loves you so very much! And the Trinity is true! Jesus is the Messiah!

The truth about Jesus is that the only way to be saved and to get into heaven and avoid being sent to hell, is by believing in JESUS for His free gift of eternal life in heaven, believing in faith alone that Jesus, who is God, died on the cross for all our sins as FULL PAYMENT for all our sins, and then Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Believe in Jesus for His free gift of salvation, and you will be in heaven, no matter what! John 3:16, John 6:47!

Salvation is a FREE GIFT that happens in a split second when you believe in JESUS for His free gift of salvation! It is impossible to lose or "leave" salvation (John 6:39-40, John 10:28, 1 John 5:13).

Please pray now: "Jesus, I believe that You died on the cross to pay for my sins and that You rose from the dead, and I thank You for eternal life!" You will be in heaven with Him forever when you die!

You leave. Religion is an infection designed to make you stay for life and obey out of fear. Trust me, sinning feels good man.

You were baptized as a protestant? Then you would have been too old for CCD. You are not much of a liar.

I'm a Catholic and a high school teacher. Believe me, you are wasting your time if your parents think that pretending a faith you don't have is going to get you some kind of scholarship to any Catholic University. It won't.

If that is truly their only reason, I would call St. John's (anonymously) and ask the admissions office point blank - will it help me to get in and get a scholarship if I am a Catholic? I bet you they will tell you no. Then you ask them if that is in writing. If it is, show it to your parents. Problem solved.

If that doesn't work, tell the priest at your parish what you said here. Tell him it is not honest for you to keep going and you are begging him to tell your parents that what they are doing is wrong. If he is a person of integrity, he will agree with you (particularly if you are close to 18).

I'm sorry that you do not like the Catholic church, but if it isn't for you then it just isn't.

Okay, one thing you should know is that being baptized as a Protestant is no different than being baptized as a Catholic. They're the same; the same way getting married in a Protestant church is no different than getting married in a Catholic church.

Explain to your mother than you are able to make your own decisions regarding religion. I don't know how old you are, but presumably old enough to decide for yourself which university to go to and what religion you want to follow. Be firm but kind in explaining this to her, she's only trying to do what she thinks is best for you.

Going to CCD does not make you a Catholic. You actually have to convert to Catholicism. From what you've told us, you are a Protestant.

Have you told your mom about this ? ? ?

If not - do it now - - -

You do not mention which St John's University.
Something else seems to be wrong with your story also.
I think this is a poor attempt at trolling to get sympathy

Just tell your parents your feelings, just as you have here.

How old are you - you sound like about 13

Wait till you're 18 then do as you want.

When you have opportunity, make yourself at home at your neighborhood Seventh-day Adventist Church.

If you are living with your parents, especially if you are under 18 yrs old, then no: you can't get out of it if your parents tell you to go. If you talked to your mother, explain how you feel, and she gives you permission too get out of it, then fine. But until then, do what your mom tells you to do.

Besides, if you didn't make your 1st communion and confirmation then you aren't Catholic yet. You're a protestant going to a Catholic church service.

You must be a Protestant.

Be a sinner and sin strongly, but more strongly have faith and rejoice in Christ.
