Not at all.
First, there are lots of African religions that are still in Africa. But the ones we tend to hear about in the US are those that came to the Americas with African slaves, and synchronized with Catholicism, etc. to form the various Afro-Caribbean religions we know today. These include the Lucumi religion (Santeria), Vodoun, etc.
