This survey is about beliefs, myths related to witchcraft, Santeria or voodoo related to cure or heal any physical, mental or spiritual condition. This psychological study is to find the role of the folklore medicine vs the psychological science.

1. Yes I do believe in Witchcraft in all its modalities. I believe in it because I was raised this way for starters but then I began walking down my own path. As a practitioner of magi ck I feel it has made my life much easier and since it is a spiritual practice I do feel closer to god through it. I used to suffer migraines...terrible migraines the kind that lasted weeks at a time at full force. I took medicine but it didn't heal me, it only relieved the pain momentarily. As I was doing some self healing (and will always do) I found out that my migraines were a physical manifestation of not loving myself enough..I didn't value myself enough. Now my migraines are gone through the healing.
2. What do I think about it? I think that it is should be used by everyone and not just an alternative. Understanding energy laws will be great at making life easier. I'm not saying everyone needs to, but what I am saying is that everyone uses it so might as well get to know it a little.
Do I believe it works? Of course it does and so do my clients. Yes I know how it works. Is it mental physical or spiritual? It is all three.
Thy king dome come, they will be done on EARTH (physical plane) as it is in HEAVEN (astral plane). As Above so Below. All that exists in the physical first existed in the astral plane.
Funeral is a good example of magi ck.
You go to physically say good by to the person, you see the person in the coffin and you focus on them as you say whatever you say. this takes care of physical and mental...now your soul can heal and through this process of life we get closer to god. And there is the spiritual part.
Magick is the understanding of Energy..the source we all came from which is the same energy that exists all around us. We also learn to manipulate it and use it to give us confidence for a new job, heal old wounds, feel empowered, be open to love or even heal our lives in general.
Do I think it is evil? In today's world we are now more intelligent able to see good and bad and choose for ourselves. Picture this, if magi ck was a person would you say it is good or bad? How will you judge it?
If you are a reasonable person you will judge it by what he does and now about what others say about it. How many people in the world hasn't life be made easier because of it? It is a healing method that COMPLIMENTS western medicine. Doctors treat our bodies but what about our souls?
Now true there are those who use magi ck for harmful purposes but does that make it bad? What then of Guns? Drugs? even education! Lawyers defending the guilty and helping them to not end up in jail. Guns help keep people free think of the civil war, America's freedom, mexico's freedom? Because of weapons we were able to give people a better chance at human rights. Not to mention the peace we keep thanks to police. Drugs help cure the sick should we also call it evil because some choose to abuse it?
If witchcraft is the devil's work because people use it to harm, then is the catholic priesthood also a group of child molesters because a few priest decide to lay hands on an innocent child? I think not. As a Christian and a Pagan I will not let my thoughts or beliefs on tools such as teh above mentioned be made any less because of their misuse by other people.
Folklore medicine vs psychological science <-- was confusing for me
Easter medicine is the term used for healing through magick and other healing modalities. Western medicine are our medical proffesionals (doctors nurses). They are not meant to be against each other but working together. Eastern medicine compliments westerm medicine. Scientific studies showed that a person's recovery operation is faster when they are optimistic. This is eastern medicine complimenting western medicine. Reiki patience have a faster recover than those who do not receive it as well.

Yes, because I have witnessed how it can work.

This question is very vague. I think about it often, as I practice it and even make some small livelihood off of it. I like it and find it beneficial to my life.

A little of all, though I think the issue of which tradition you're asking about makes a little difference. Santeria is much more about the spiritual aspect than a lot of the new age Wicca would be, for example. And hoodoo/voodoo is more about the physical than Wicca tends to be.
Now, that all these traditions are known to work indicates they all have merit, and that all three aspects come to play.

Good and evil are human concepts that vary from culture to culture. The magic itself is not good or evil, but one culture or another may tend to frown on its practice or method of practice for one reason or another.

4) About evil or not evil? it all depends on how you use it. Magic is about the same thing as a big gas carrying truck. Depends how you drive it, if you crash it and explode it or you can bring the gas to many people who would use it in a proper way.

I am a female, aged 36, originally from Vermont but now living in Massachusetts.
1.- Do you believe in witchcraft ,Santeria or voodoo and why? Yes, I believe in all three. All three are religions, and religions exist, so "believing" in them - I should hope everyone says yes to this. It's what they practice that people might not believe in.
2.- What do you think about it? I think that witchcraft is not what ignorant people think it is. It's a CRAFT, a practice, a way of life. Santeria and Voodoo (also known as Voudon) is the same thing. Each has it's own pantheon of Gods and Goddesses and there are offerings made, prayers made, and magic done in their name.
3.- Do you believe it works? How it works? Is it mental, physical or spiritual? Yes I believe all three work, IF you know what you are doing, have respect and reverence for it. If you don't know what you're doing or are "casting a spell to make yourself a mermaid" or some other ridiculous horse sh*t like that, it's not going to work. Magic is simply energy, directed with a purpose for a specific outcome.
4.- Do you think is evil or good? Explain it. - No none of it is evil. Evil only exists in the hearts of humans. For instance, a hammer is a tool. It's not going to do evil. It's used for a specific purpose. If someone takes a hammer and kills someone with it, the hammer is not evil, it is the human that uses it to kill that is evil. Witchcraft, Santeria, and Voudon are the same way. It is the heart of the practitioner that is good or evil.
1. I believe in all three, but I practice Santeria.
2. I think they are great religions. Wiccan enforces a person's skill at being in control of matters in his or her life. It's great for independence and very nonjudgmental as to other religions' practices and rituals. On the other hand, Voodoo and Santeria are very orderly religions. People may think they are flukes, but the rituals and prayers are organized. Santeria (Lucumi) is also very adaptive. If a Maoist government took over, the Orishas would be scrutinized with the leaders.
3. Yes I believe it works. It works on all three levels, mental, physical and spiritual. For me I practice more on the spiritual level and I see the practitioners gain more spiritual rather than physical.
4. The religions are not evil. However, occasionally you may find someone who tries to misuse the religion (that's actually true of all religions).
