Default followers of santeria?

i am writing a research paper on Santeria and i find it odd to have to keep using the phrases: followers foe Santeria or practitioners of Santeria.
surely there has to be some word for them but i have 6 very well written scholarly books on it and i can't find it. it is not satirists or Santeria or Santeria or Alisha or Yoruba or locum or Alisha or babalosha or iyalosha or ayoba.

these terms all have a very specific meaning and they appear in all of my books, i am sure that none of them refer to the congregation of the santeria faith.
one internet site siad they are sometimes called santerists but this is derogatory and not fitting for my paper. another said olorisha but my books say the olorisha were "fetish priests" and are generally looked down upon within the religion.

What is the word for just a normal person who practices santeria? (ie not a priest...)

This is all I could find

Lukumi; it is related to a Yoruba word meaning "friend". It is used to refer to both the religion and the practitioners of Afro-Cuban worship of the Orishas.

Aborisha - is a common term that is used to refer back to the worshiper and the actual worship of the Orisha's.

A tricky one! I didn't find anything much from my browse of the.. ha... all-knowing-Internet... but I'll give you my two pence worth anyway. Maybe the individuals are referred to simply as Santaria since it means follower of the saints (or similar). Not sure how that would work in a sentence though...

"The Santaria are worshipers of..."
"She is a Santaria and so is her Mother"

What do you think?
