if you are born into the religion of santeria, are you damned to hell? does your soul
Im curious, because I was born into this religion. I have not practiced it or was initiated in any way.
I was told my soul was offered up to the devil in exchange for my life. does that mean I have a demon within me?
No. Many people are born into households in which the parents practice a certain belief system, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the child is going to share his or her parents' beliefs. The idea that someones condemning you to Hell for religious choices that you didn't even make is absurd. I've been told the same thing about my own religious upbringing, and it's ridiculous. Even if you did choose to practice Santer?a, so what? It's nobody Else's business. I've found that people who bash other religions tend to be insecure about their own.
First off, who told you about that?
Second, I BELIEVE that the idea of demons came about as an explanation to the "bad" things that happen to us. From there, things went into the likes of myths and legends, comic books and movies.
The point I want you to consider is: Do you think that idea of your "demon possession" is true? Someone might be lying to you, you know.
I think when we talk about "demons", we're talking about "Satan", so for your perusal :') here's a page from the Skeptic's Dictionary (on line) about "Satan". It's one heck of a long but good read:

John10:35
Although Yoruba religion started 10,057 years ago John 10:35 talks about the same Principle.
This all that Santeria and The Yoruba religion is about.
People create demons, ghosts etc.
These things do not have souls and can be blown away by projecting love and white Light.
Light and Love comes from all of The Orishas, Orumila, Esha and Olofi

No; It only means that you were fortunate to be born in to a Family that is blessed in being part of an ancient beautiful culture and religion.
You should take the time to really get to know your roots and not believe evil, uncouth, ignorant, people who would say such a ridiculous thing to you. Shame on them, their religious beliefs and their insipid insecure god that would let them say such a stupid thing to you{Its the clear proof that their god doesn't exist since it clearly demonstrates hubris on the behalf of the person who told you that. think about it and you will see that this makes sense.} deserve to be taught a lesson in respecting the culture and beliefs of others. Keep away from those lowlife cretins as they are nothing but just envious fools.Be Proud of your self and your heritage and defend it with everything in your being. Let no one tell you that you are inferior nor that your ancestors are. Remember your ancestors live with in you and through you.
