Santeria.. What are you praying and worshiping.. Good or evil?

anyone know something about this? I believe in it. but what i am worried about is am i praying to God, other gods, or evil things. I have being praying a lot lately using candles and incense and things. stuff have in prove. can anyone help. Please be serious

This category is inundated with fundamentalists, so you're not going to find too many open-minded theists. Perhaps when the weather gets warmer and they go back to holding signs on street corners you'll find more of them.

Santeria (Lucumi) is an organized religion and using candles and incense doesn't qualify as practicing Santeria.

Catholics light prayer candles and incense is used in their ceremonies, and I doubt they think they are evil. Frankincense, sandalwood and myrrh are used to purify a place.

In Santeria there is one God, Olodumare. The Orishas are not gods, nor are they evil, nor are they at your command.

The only way you can really learn about Santeria is to have someone take you under their wing (not literally). Despite a few books written on the subject, it is impossible to learn alone. It consists of rituals and partakes that have passed down through generations.

I say prayers to my the Santos and my ancestors everyday. There is nothing evil about it and I receive great guidance and peace from my prayers. I have a great Iyabona and Padrino who guides me.
