Coworker and I found a voodoo doll stitched to a blue pouch at work today (carved from bone). Red tape was wrapped around it on the mouth and groin area. We cut open the bag (bad idea, i know) and found rice, pennies, some stones (tigers eye, hematite, fools gold etc) and some money. There was a $2 bill tied around some bird feathers/parts with red string, and another just like it. Then there was a bill with a rattlesnake rattle in it. Everything was bound with red string and there was a small bag of sage taped shut with red tape. We also found a second red pouch with a red cloth, some stones and a crustacean claw. Any ideas? Tried to find help here but no one knows and I'm wondering if I need some serious cleansing since I opened it. I know it came from a Mexican woman if that is of any help.. and I believe she has a few mental issues.
Upon further inspection, the 2 dollar bills were wrapped around actual dead birds (they were small ones) and the 'claw' is actually a tooth which split. Just thought I'd throw that out there. And yes, I know for a fact she is Mexican since there were papers with the items that explained it (oddly enough the papers also stated she had a fear of water and snakes--which I found especially odd)
If you don't believe in the magic then it won't have any bearing on you. As you said, the woman probably has mental health issues. Magic only really works for those who believe in it.
Well, as far as I've heard from my mom, my grandmother practices Santeria and there were many who practiced both Santeria and Brujeria in their neighborhood. Basically, if one didn't believe in the magic, one would not be effected by it. That was how the ones who practiced Santeria (for lack of a better word, light magic) warded off the magic of those who practiced Brujeria (for lack of a better word, dark magic).
So if you don't believe in it, I don't think you'll be in any danger. If you have a sneaking suspicion or believe in it fully, I would guess your next move is to see a shaman who practices Santeria. (I'm not entirely sure, so do some research)
Yeah, it's voodoo.
if you find something like that never open it again
Objects like that are believed to be cursed.
I'm part Mexican and I know the sage means freedom or you burn it to symbolize something i DJ i don't practice voodoo circles or rituals.
Me no crazy like that....
Vodu is an African based religion that includes magic as part of its cosmology. Santeria like wise is a religion where honoring the Orisha and positive self- development are the focus, but magic is again , included in the beliefs. Both of these RELIGIONS are Afro- Caribbean, not Mexican. Brujeria is Mexican folk magic, usually considered negative, as opposed to Curanderismo which emphasis es physical and spiritual healing. That being said the 1st pouch sounds like a charm for prosperity, rice, coins, $2 bills are used to draw money. The 2ND pouch sounds like it was for protection, rattlesnake rattles 'warn ' you of impending danger, sage clears away negative influences.Things are wrapped to contain energy. If the right person is doing it , magic will work on you whether you believe in it or not, in fact by ignoring its existence, you make it much easier for a well-trained practitioner to work on you. Next time you find something like that, try to avoid touching it, the work may not be directed to you, and may actually be a spell the worker did for their OWN needs. Do not open it, if is is there for a negative work you risk 'infecting' yourself with that energy, even if the work was not meant for you. If you have a spiritual
ad visor, seek divination and advice from them,or do a spiritual cleansing on yourself and your office or workspace to clear unwanted energy away.
