Default What's the difference between Voodoo and Santeria?

Voodoo is more African and Santeria has more Cuban and Catholic influence.

Vodun has Haitian(French Carribean) roots and Santeria has Spanish Carribean roots but they are both basically Yoruba animism

Santeria involves animal sacrifices, a ritual and ultimately leads to someone being possessed. Voodoo do not involve sacrifices or possession. They both are not of God and should be avoided.
