I heard that it's about believing threes a good and bad in everyone, for example Jesus. They believe there is a bad side of him even though people made him out to be a very amazing person.
I was just wondering what else the Satanics believe? and their rules.
"They believe in Satan just as you do God" I do not believe in God..
They idolize the characteristics of Satan, usually without thinking he was an actual being. They respect nonconformity, indulging yourself, intelligence, etc.
Many Satanists are actually atheists, they just see that the rules and guidelines of Satanism as making sense.
As for Jesus, all people have a good and a bad side. To focus on just being good or just being evil is unhealthy and dishonest.
Satanism can refer to a number of belief systems depending on the user and contexts. Common misuse of the word generally refers to "the worship of Satan or the practice of ritual magic."[1] However, by the actual adherents, the suffix -ism is often used suggesting the definition as an act or practice (e.g. the word heroism), as opposed to the oft-assumed definition as the doctrine or philosophy behind an act or practice. [2]
Generally, the word "Satanism" is used to describe several distinct spiritual practices and beliefs: the two most significant seem to be LaVeyan Satanism, and Theistic Satanism. Ideas about Satanism range from essentially these two sources. [3]
LaVeyan Satanism is a form wherein the Satanist plays the role of the adversary to spiritual creeds, espousing vehement social Darwinism, hedonism, objectives, and atheism. The term LaVeyan Satanist, is used by adherents to clarify that they support the ideologies in the writings of Church of Satan founder Anton Szandor LaVey.[4] Careful use of the word, according to one website, refers to a "small religious group that is unrelated to any other faith, and whose members feel free to satisfy their urges responsibly, exhibit kindness to their friends, and attack their enemies."[5]
Theistic Satanism contains a very broad scope of religious groups from Pagans celebrating Pan to Yezidis worship ping Melek Taus, Shaytan.[6] Even Thelema can be considered Theistic Satanism for Aleister Crowley?s Liber SAMEKH contains this phrase ?Thou Satan-Sun Hadith that goest without will? Hadith being one of the three Egyptian Gods in his ?Book of the Law?.[7] There are many modern groups of Theistic Satanists but most consider themselves to be Satanists and see no need for the use of the word Theistic. One more group that falls under the definition of Theistic Satanism would be, "Reverse Christians", being that they practice what Christians claim Satanists do and worship what they consider to be the enemy of Christ and God.
they believe that God hates us all, and that instead of sitting there in temptation, you should go out and live freely. And they believe that Satan is merciless only to those who oppose him. sad, dint it?
Google Church of Satan. They have their own Bible and commandments. Their commandments sound reasonable but their ceremonies are just bizarre and uncool.
They have a concept that we are animals and should behave that way. For example, you should not cross an enemies territory. You shouldn't attack them if they let you be. But if they cross you, you should attack them like a wolf would. You can't hurt little kids because they don't know any better.
I don't know who takes this church seriously. Doubt many people do.
If you're talking about LaVeyan Satanists, who are mainly atheists but hold to the philosophy put forth in The Satanic Bible, I would say that it can boiled down to a worship of the self and hedonism --- the opposite of Christ's example of putting others before yourself in humility and denying yourself.
If you're talking about theistic Satanists, who do actually worship Satan, that is a whole different ballgame, and while I'm certainly no expert, it would seem to me that the emphasis is on more 'obvious' evil, if that makes sense --- there seems to be no attempt to hide behind an idea that satanic ideals are what is actually good for you and good for your community, as there is in LaVeyan Satanism. However, they seem to hold to the idea that Satan is greatly maligned and that he is somehow stronger and better than God, who is actually wicked, in their view.
Well there are a few types of Satanists, but the most common follow the philosophy of Anton LeVay. They are really atheists that don't believe in a literal Satan but use him as a symbol and to mock the religious. They mostly feel that religion causes you to deny part of your basic humanity.
they believe that not everyone is worthy of help. they believe that they are superior beings, and that people need to stop sugarcoating everything and ensuring mediocrity. they believe that you should help yourself and keep yourself healthy as you only have one life to live, but at the same time you should indulge yourself in a more or less healthy manner as long as you respect the natural rights of others.
Satan was just another racist angel of Gods, apparently since some say Satan was an angel like God was.
see how he wanted JOB the greatest at the time Oriental king mentioned in the bible. its the reason Oriental native people must band together against God and His racist angels.
It puts a smile on my face whenever someone is open minded enough to even ask instead of just assuming they know. Kudos, woman!
Satanism is about many things. For one thing, you have Polarity. Accepting both Darkness and Light (which are NOT synonymous with "Good and Evil", by the way), because it is by experiencing the full range of that which is available to us that we truly learn and grow as people, as souls, and as sentient, biological beings. For instance, there is a dual nature to Father Satan's personality, or so they say. He is both "Prince of Darkness", and also "Bringer of Light", as the name "Lucifer" translates to. It is said that "Only in the Darkness of Satanas can one find the Light of Lucifer". Interesting, no?
For another thing, there is the belief (in both Theistic and LaVeyan/Atheistic Satanism) that there is nothing wrong with sin, and that things like Lust, Pride, Wrath, etc. are natural reactions to a given stimulus, and that there is nothing wrong with accepting them as part of your life, so long as they do not begin to interfere with the other parts of life.
A word on Pride: we believe that though we were not created perfect, that we have a right to feel good about (or "proud of") who we are. We do not accept the concepts that the body and sexuality are "ugly" or "vile", and most of us tend to be fine with who we are. For instance, I'm far from the most handsome guy you'll ever meet, but I'm still proud to be who I am.
To us, sexuality is sacred. Hence, you'll find sex and sexuality as a part of many Satanic Rituals (E.G. the ones listed in "The Codex Searus", one of the Traditional Satanist Sacred Texts). In ritual, many of us use sexuality as a way to raise emotional and spiritual energy which can be directed towards our intended goals. Even outside of ritual, we have no problem with, and are not ashamed of sex.
More on Rituals, you'll hear a lot of trash even in this thread (probably) about how our Rituals are "Evil" and "Sadistic", when in fact if they were, I sure as Hell wouldn't take part in them. They don't actually involve killing, rape, torture or such disgusting things. These are actually things that go on in Rituals of Devil Worship, which is FAR different from Legitimate Satanism. Satan is not "The Devil" as some will have you believe, and does not encourage us to harm people for the most part, and especially not in Ritual. There are more effective ways of accomplishing goals in Ritual and Ceremony. Moving right along...
Depending on whether you're a Theistic or Atheistic Satanist, the belief in who/what Satan is varies.
To we Theistics, Father Satan is a living, sentient, Godlike Being. Most Theistics believe that Satan created humanity, and that He and His Demons and Demonesses watch over, teach and empower all of us who respect them for who they are. We also know Him not as a Xian Invention, but rather as a Pagan God far predating Xianity.
LaVeyans, or Atheistic Satanists, believe that Satan is not a sentient being, but rather an archetype, and a symbol of the Forces of Nature and Darkness, and also of what the Ideal Satanist should embody. They revere Satan for his role in mythology as a rebel, and as a being who encourages Humanity to embrace our Carnal Nature.
The Afterlife from a Satanic Point of View...
To Theistic Satanists, the afterlife is Hell. This is not a problem, however, as we believe in the Pagan Version of Hell, which is a dark, peaceful and happy place, where Father Satan and His Demons hold primary residence, and where all souls go after death to celebrate a life well-lived, if indeed they have lived well. If not, they are "reincarnated", for lack of a better word, and sent back to Earth to learn and grow more until they are worthy of Hell. There is a saying from one of the Satanic Sacred Texts, which is said to come straight from Satan Himself. It goes, "I send a person back a second, or even a third time if I see fit, or to another planet through the Transmigration of Souls". I've always thought that's better than the "Live the way we tell you, or be punished for all eternity" mentality held by some religions.
The LaVeyans believe that there IS no afterlife, and that we have no souls, only bodies and vital existances. Anton LaVey once said "There is no Heaven above and no Hell to burn in", or something to that effect. It makes sense, seeing as they are Atheistic.
As for rules, the codes of conduct of both LaVeyan and Traditional/Theistic Satanism largely advocate things like not harming the innocent, holding everyone responsible for their actions, and other sensible things. One thing I like about the Codex Searus (which I had mentioned before) is the saying in it, that goes "Nothing is beautiful but man, but most beautiful of ALL is woman!". As I once told another Answers Contact, even as a man, I can appreciate any religion in which women don't get the sh!t end of the gender stick, or espescially one where there IS no sh!t end of the gender stick. Many of us believe that women and children are sacred, and should be treated kindly, gently and respectfully as much so as possible.
We have a Creed that goes, "Do as you will shall be the whole of the law". This does NOT mean that we're free to do whatever we want, regardless of the laws of society. To the Satanists I've met and interacted with, it rather means that we're free to make healthy, intelligent decisions no matter what other people think. It frees us from action based upon others' judgements, not from the responsibility to be law-abiding, or the obligation to be good to those who have proven themselves worthy or otherwise don't deserve mistreatment. On the other hand, we generally have no problem with fighting back when we've been wronged or abused. Sometimes this manifests itself in a Ritual for the purpose of eye-for-an-eye payback, and sometimes in other ways. In "The Satanic Bible", LaVey states, "If an enemy doth smite you on your left cheek, SMASH him on his right". As you can see, we don't turn the other cheek. That doesn't mean we can't make great friends and companions, it just means you probably shouldn't go out of your way to be a jerk where we're concerned. Treat us well, and you'll probably have just as good an experience with Satanists as I do.
That's most of what I can think of, I hope you've found this enlightening. And once again, thank you for taking the time to learn instead of just assuming the worst.
Side Note:
When it comes to Jesus, the REAL version of him (as opposed to the Nazarene Version in the Bible) was actually quite the sinner. From practicing Lust (he WAS after all, married to Mary Magdalena, a prostitute) to Wrath (turning a bullwhip on a group of business men out of blind rage brought about by their doing business in Sunday Sermon) and otherwise, he was a human being like any other, and Sin is natural to Humans. Being human, I'm sure he had his bad qualities just like all the rest of us.
Oh, and in general, those of you who have no experience with something (espesically Satanism), and are not Satanist should not pretend to know anything about it, or try to answer questions about it in a place where someone is seeking genuine knowledge, thank you VERY much.
