Finding my religion.... atheism OR Satanism? Any info to help me decide between the t

Atheism has nothing to do with Satanism. Why don't you first start by looking up the definition of both.

Satanism embraces the indulgence of human desire (sex, greed, lust, etc.). Atheism is simply the lack of belief in any gods. If I have to tell you what atheism is, then you probably aren't one.

Satanism is atheistic. If you want to learn more about Satanism read The Satanic Bible by Anton LaVey. You'll find out that Satanism is nothing like some people seem to think it's like. It's not Devil worship, that's just what the ignorant believe.

Atheism--You don't believe in any higher power/being
Satanism (theistic)--you believe in Satan as an actual spirit/being and worship him instead of god.

I'm sure you've got a pretty good idea about atheism from around here. Logic rules, no belief in religion or a deity (or deities) until shown logical evidence that they exist.

COS Satanism is actually atheism/humanism - they don't believe in a deity named Satan but in the here and now and that man is an intelligent animal.

Theist Satanists do believe in Satan as a deity but reject the Christian propaganda.

Devil Worshipers are anti-Christians that are worshiping the evil deity put forth by Christians.

(I think I got that correct, any Satanists, please correct me. No disrespect intended).

satanism is only for you if you wish to follow the darkness of this world. If you choose this, you may some day wish you had not. I would say you would be better off not having a religion than choosing satanism.

Some Satanists are atheists. But, not all atheists are Satanists.

In this world, Relgion is our main problem, just ignore them, act as if they do not exist, but never say you are atheist. Thats what I do. And never accept Satinism, that's BS. Satinism, will ruin your life, mentally.

You know what I think? I think you are just an angst teenager who thinks declaring she is an atheist or satanist will get her higher up the pathetic EM social ladder (which ironically brings you lower down the universal social ladder). If you weren't a complete fraud, you wouldn't be choosing between two irrelevant belief systems. Either you believe in god and/or Satan, or you don't.

I know all this because if you don't know anything about them, why are you excluding all the other possible belief systems: Buddhism, Shintoism, Islam, Christianity, etc.? First off love, atheism is not a religion. As for Satanism, depends on which one you want. The atheistic version just views oneself as the higher power, while the theological one views Satan more as a friend, nothing to do with Christianity (other than the name and that he was grossly misinterpreted by the Christians.)

Wait... don't tell me you're limiting yourself to two options, especially if you don't know much about them. There are thousands of belief systems on this planet, don't limit yourself.

Atheism and satanism are not even in the same zip code.

Before you start exploring various religions and/or atheism:

I'm not claiming that agnosticism is "the truth", but I think it's worth knowing about this point of view.

By the way, Satanism is not really an established religion, but more a loosely based set of "beliefs", to a large extent based on reversing various Christian beliefs and customs. I can't see anything positive coming out of considering Satanism as your personal religious belief.

Do you specifically BELlEVE that there is no God?

If not then by definition you are not an atheist.

Do you specifically believe in the traditional concept of Satan? If so, do you really wish to hate and deliberately hurt people? Do you wish to become so self serving that you care nothing about others?

IF this is your position than you are a VERY strange and unfortunate individual.

However, if you want to become one of the numerous people who merely "play around" with Satanism, then you are merely foolish, ignorant, and deluded. And I feel sorry for you.

Well, as Satanism is just more religious BS, I'd go with atheism. The only thing you have to know about it is that there is no evidence for any god.

And to the person above me there, atheism is a religion in the same way that bald is a hair color. Not all beliefs are religions, and anyway, atheism is the absence of belief.

Neither is good. Listen: What seems better? Someone who betrayed a person or someone who gave up his life for a person? Now...I'll tell you who the betrayer is: Satan. He led a group of angels and rebelled against God, therefore getting him cast out of heaven. He's everything evil...no matter what Satanistic groups say. He will deceive you. You get nothing out of him except pain, misery, and death. Who's the other person? You probably know...Jesus. God's own Son.

The lifestyle of religions & beliefs effect the way you live your life, and whether you'll be truly happy, or not.
God is where the happiness is. How do I know? I found that out by believing in the word of God.
I don't know how it does it but, I just feel so much more happier knowing I belong to a loving church family, that truly cares about me.


God offers Eternal Life.
Satan offers everlasting death.

Both will last for the rest of eternity.
