Default Why do people fear Satanism?

satanism is about putting yourself in the position of god. you are the supreme ruler of your own destiny. there are rules on the sites, and in the books. but satanism is a very contradicting religion, don?t let it fool you. it?s true intentions are hidden beneath the skin. those rules are made to be broken.

satanism is not the worship of Satan instead of god. a satanist is just a cocky atheist. one who not only dozen?t believe in god, but believes that they them self, are as a god. we do not sacrifice goats, or drink blood (unless you like that sort of thing, then feel free to do so.)

I have met a few Satanists in my time, and we've always gotten along. I like that you always know exactly where you stand with a Satanist. (Although I do not agree with their religious practices.)

People fear it because they know nothing about it. They hear "Satanism" and immediately think of things like virgin sacrifices and blood orgies.

Most people don't know the difference between Satanism and literal Devil Worship.

I'd say that is one of the greatest dangers. The people who invoke the name of Satan don't even realize that he actually exists. You don't even know how happy that makes him.

The root "Satan" means enemy or adversary. So if you call yourself a Satanist you are literally saying that you are the enemy. Go figure.

Satan is the enemy of my religion, Christianity, along with Judaism and I'm also guessing Islam, if they call him Satan, i know they have an evil figure. They are not just putting their faith in and praying to some random figure, they are conforming to the supreme source of evil on Earth! That's like working for Hitler or Sadaam Hussein!

It's a lot more than that. Satanism preaches chaos, disorder, and even sin itself. The world would be plunged into anarchy if we all decided to convert to Satanism.

Satanism is against God all the way and I know God
very well and believe in him,,so I have no business
in anything to do with satanism or any other thing that
goes against my God,,I hope you wake up before
Christ returns and your left standing alone.

A Satanism's god is Satan himself. There are two spirits in this world - God and Satan. God has ultimate authority and will rule and reign. Satan is trying to dethrone God and take as many people with him as possible. Satan and his imps will be cast into the lake of fire that never stops burning.

Well that's just what Satan tried to do and failed. If Satan couldn't succeed in his bid to "become" God - what hope have you got? Satan was originally an archangel (or Seraphim) and as such had (and still has) enormous supernatural power. Despite that, he couldn't control his own destiny, and ultimately goes down in history as the very first of the big-time losers.
You can do better than follow his example.

answer: because some refuse to learn about the religion and NEED to blame the bogeyman for things that go wrong and to threaten others with.

I have a few Satanic friends, great people and if I weren't heathen, I'd be a Satanist - theist or humanist, I'm not sure.

Learn about a religion before you condemn it outright, people.

It's dumb?

I dunno, I prefer Secular Humanism or something...it's not as self-centered and is more realistic. I consider myself a realist more than anything.

The only people that fear Satanism are the truly ignorant.
Looking at this question and almost all the answers, I can see the level of ignorance in here is quite staggering.

Obviously you people have gotten your information off of the oh so informative Internet, or from your Sunday school teachers. Try learning from a true Satanist before you start bashing something you obviously know nothing about.
