Wrong to combine religions? Not in the sense that you are referring to, no! I do believe that most if not all modern religions (mythologies) and ALL old school religions are fundamentally wrong, but that is a different story. Mixing and matching is not wrong, per say.
Most Christians will call a Wiccan, pagan or any other non- Judeo/christen theist evil and perhaps even sum them up in a generalization referring to them as Satanic in nature. But that is just because they don?t know any better. There are Satanists that practice Wicca, just as there are 'Christians' that practice Wicca.
The fact is that Satanism is not about worshiping Satan, it's a philosophical ideology in direct opposition of biblical lore and ideals and more about the reality and acceptance of human nature.
That said, I never understood the idea of lumping Wicca or Pagan practices with Satanism. After all, other then both being non-Christian, there really isn't much in common between them. Wicca and Paganism are generally Poly-theistic although I have heard of Mono-theistic Wiccan covens. Satanism in atheistic. They believe themselves to be the gods, not some old fart in a thrown in some distant heaven. Generally speaking, most Pagan and Wiccan practices revolve around the idea of "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Satanic ideals are more along the lines of "Do unto others as you would, before they do it to you." (Okay, that's a paraphrasing of "Do unto others as they do unto you." But you get the idea.) Although, both (or more accurately all of the above mentioned religions) are based on false notions. Wicca, Paganism, Judaism, Christianity or any theistic faith puts emphasis on non-existent external powers and persons. Satanism and the ilk puts 'faith' and gives power to the self, even if the self is undeserving of it.
I hope this helps.
