Ive met my share of satanists on line, a few in real life, all the ones Ive met so far are basically satanists to rebel against Christians. no not god, not Jesus or any character in the bible...they do it to rebel against Christianity. they dislike Christianity so they re going to go with the polar opposite of it. and since atheism isn't enough the yd rather side with Christianity's arch nemesis....satan.
i doubt there are many people out there who actually believe satan exists....excluding the christians!!!!!

Some may not, but the word "atheist" simply means "without god". Buddhism also is an atheistic religion, and a Buddhist will tell you there is no supreme being...but try telling them that there are no supernatural beings. They believe in far more of them than Satanists do.

The further you get into Wicca, the further you will move into darkness. The further you move into darkness, the more hostile you may become to Christianity, the idea of the cross and it's sacrifice, etc. Oftentimes those who are involved in occult practices develop an attraction for dark things, the nighttime, skulls, various forms of rebellion, dark clothing, and a desire for power. These things are the fingerprints of the enemy that gradually overtake a person involved in occult practices. Have you been touched by the enemy? Do you desire these things? If so, have you been touched by the darkness?
That may be true about Wicca, but many pagan religions have a demon in their theology and a snake or dragon is held in sacred status in some of these. Satan is mentioned many times in the Hebrew scriptures and in Genesis , he is prophesied to be crushed by a seed.
OK first of all, this "concept of the devil " is real. you really need to go to church once in a while or something.OK. to become Christian, you have to believe that Jesus Chrst died on the cross for your sin. then you have to FOLLOW him and his word (the bible). so people might be live in Jesus, but they still go to hell
while there is no SATAN /devil in witchcraft, Paganism, Wicca there is still the acknowledgment of evil in the world.

See, from what I've learned of Satanism, Satan isn't literally a creature of evil and darkness. No, Satan is simply a symbol, and ideal, and the ultimate manifestation of everything Christianity is not. He's not real, he's not literal, but he is symbolic and held in reverence nonetheless.
Exactly. To be a devil worshiper you have to first believe in the Devil, which is a Christian creation. Therefore, you have to be a Christian to worship the Devil. In my experience Devil worshipers are those that are pissed at Christianity and are thus rebelling against it, and are trying to prove a point through shock value by being the "anti-Christian".
As mentioned, Satanists generally don't worship Satan as a being, any more than Taoists think there is a god called "Tao."
And theistic Satanists--traditionally called "devil worshipers"--are no more a "subset of Christians" than Christians are a "subset of Jews."
We don't call Christianity or Islam sects of Judaism. Having some of the same religious history doesn't make people members of the same religion. Even using the same scriptures (which Satanists *don't* do) doesn't make them members of the same religion.
While there is no "supreme evil" deity in Wicca, that doesn't mean the Horned God is not "the devil" He embodies many traits that Christian doctrine define as "evil;" that Wiccans don't think those are evil doesn't change the Christian interpretation. I think it's very silly of Wiccans to get upset over what some other religion thinks about their deities.
