Default Some questions regarding Satanism and similarities to Wicca...?

1. a) Which "holidays" do you celebrate?
b) Are any of these the same as Wiccan Sabbaths? (I know that some are celebrated on the same day, but are any celebrated in the same way?)
c) Do you celebrated es bats (full moons)?

2. I've read that some Satanists see Wiccans as hypocritical - something to do with only performing beneficial rituals and no harmful ones - is this true? If so, could you explain how this is hypocrisy?

3. The whole ritual sacrifice thing, spilling goats blood and whatnot - is that true?

Thanks!
By Satanism I mean the Church of Satan, but if you could provide some details about other types that would be great too.

And yes, I know that Wiccans don't condone animal sacrifice. But Hollywood movies suggest that Satanists do - I'm just trying to clear up what's myth and what's fact.
To clarify just a little more:

I know that Satanism (Church of Satan specifically) and Wicca are entirely different religions that have very few if any similarities - I'm not looking for a general overview.

While I'd appreciate any information you can give me about Satanism, I'd really just like my specific questions answered.

The reading I've done tells me that Satanists celebrate the solar festivals (solstice and equinox) as well as Halloween and whatever the Satanist equivalent is for the Wiccan festival Beltane. But I'm not sure if this is true, and if it is I'd like to know if these days represent similar things for Satanists as for Wiccans - it's unlikely, but I'd still like to know.
And I was pretty sure that real Satanists don't do animal sacrifices, but with all the propaganda it's hard to be sure sometimes.

first, you need to specify what kind of satanism you mean (one major form of satanism does not believe in Satan)

There is no similarity between Satanism and Wicca

Wicca does not have animal sacrifices either, no idea where you heard that.

Also threes several types of satanism , some do animal (usually the teens who have no idea what its about) sacrifice and some don't

Satanism is an offshoot of Christianity. You have to believe in that God and Demon for it to have any value. What good is a black mass or upside down cross if they have no value to you.
Wicca is following nature. Women are historically seen as evil witches who follow a path apart from god because they were the healers and herbalists in their time and held to much power for the Christians. Christianity then as now could offer only words while the elder women could offer genuine aid in time of trouble.
Do you want to be Wicca? Help your neighbor and educate yourself.
Nobody or nothing exists apart from the natural, don't get fooled.

1) I imagine the holidays will vary according to the type of Satanist you're talking about. The Church of Satan celebrates Halloween, which is the same day as the Wiccan Samhain, but they have totally different meanings.

The eight Wiccan holidays are generally seen as celebrating the life cycle of god and goddess (who don't even exist in Satanism) and the yearly progression of the natural world.

2) The usual complaint I hear on this matter doesn't have to do with rituals but life in general. Objectors (Satanists and otherwise) call Wiccans hypocritical because they claim we should "harm none" yet life involves harm. This is a reaction to a complete misunderstanding of the Wiccan Rede. There is no rule in Wicca that says "harm none," and those Wiccans who do insist on such a thing are naive if they think they are really never causing any harm. (what are they eating? Rocks?)

3) I know of no Satanic group that sacrifices animals or drinks blood. The Church of Satan even has a rule specifically against killing animals for reasons other than survival. http://www.churchofsatan.com might be a very good read for you.

answer: Satanists view ANYONE who is religious as hypocritical and idiots. I know some Wiccans that can throw some mean banishing and negative magic around - of course that was to "destroy" a bad habit or an illness.

Satanism and Wicca are NOTHING alike on any level. LaVey Satanists don't believe in ANY deity. Theistic Satanists think Christians gave their deity a bad rep.

Wiccans do not have a Satan in their religion (no pagan religion does).

1. The only holidays in common are those celebrated by Satanists after Wicca was founded - Walpurgishnacht (May Eve) and Halloween - Satanists celebrate something definitely different than Wiccans and pagans.

Some Satanists gather on full moons just because a monthly meeting is a good idea for any group and a full moon is a good way of timing it. Others pick the third (or fourth or first or whatever) Friday, Saturday or whatever.

3. No REAL Satanist sacrifices animals or abuse children - they are sacred are to be protected. Besides, where would you find a goat, do you know? Wouldn't someone get suspicious if you kept ordering goats? No, that's Hollywood and Christians BS

The Thread of 'Satanism' you speak of evolved from Aleister Crowley's Thelema. (Which is not itself Satanism) LaVey was a student of Crowley's philosophy as much as was Gardner an imitate of Crowley himself. One of Wicca's primary religious philosophies then is also Thelema. (Crowley actually wrote a lot of the first Gardnerian Book of Shadows, which was later rewritten by Doreen Valiente) That is how they are connected. They have a similar ancestor, but other, different philosophies went into the creation of each. Satanism is obviously to some extent a rejection of Christianity to find ones true Will, while Wicca is an embracing of a Pagan paradigm to find ones true Will. (An it Harm None, do what you Will)
