Default Will Wicca, Paganism, etc. ever distance itself from "devil-worship" or "Satanism?"?

Or is it destined to always be confused and maligned with such opposites?
Some have said that they do not know enough about Wicca/Paganism, etc. to have an answer, so if you do not know about the religion(s)/spirituality, you can go here if you are interested: http://www.religioustolerance.org/wic_intr.htm

Not if the Catholic church has it's way and keeps defaming them for it's own benefit.

Satan is a Christian construct, hear that Satan is a Christian construct! ...SATAN IS A CHRISTIAN CONSTRUCT!!!!

I think it will always be considered devil worship... considering what the popular religions are now. Maybe a couple of centuries down the line it might start to change, but in reality, it probably won't. A shame too... a lot of these other people are missing out on some good things within Paganism. People are just too quick to throw the baby out with the bathwater, just because someone else told them the water is dirty.

People will always be afraid of what they don't understand. At least most countries don't burn people anymore.

as Christianity continues dying out, i think those ignorant people will stop seeing religion as a Christianity versus devil-worship binary and more as a lot of very different systems of beliefs.

though by no means an expert i believe that Wicca and paganism are miles apart spiritually from satanism
unfortunately their are people out there that will judge any faith or belief not their own without checking the facts

As long as Christianity and Islam exist, it will always be associated with Satan.

Just as atheism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and everything else that is not christian or Muslim is, and will be.

Read the Da Vinci code, or some other books or web sites, it explains how the church demonized the other religions so they would have more people under their thumb. It may be different now a days but the old church was as evil as they come, 5 million women were burned over 300 years for being free thinkers hi ch made them witches. This is who put together the modern Bible, you can believe God is perfect but that is proof that the church, Bible, and religion is not.

paganism was one of the first religions which preached that god and goddess are everywhere and you can worship them in your own house without going to church. catholic, Christina and Muslim are organized religions with rid git structures. they dictate and make you feel guilty for a lot of things. that is why they should open their eyes to a more forgiving and delicate face of god. paganism is one of such followings.

It has. They have nothing to do with Anton Sandor LeVay. They have much to do with respect for nature and living in harmony with it.

According to fundamentalist Christian beliefs, all who do not follow their path are following the path of Satan -- therefore Satanists.

If their opinion is the one you want to change, give up now.

As far as the opinions of everyone else? If you are a pagan/Wicca/druid etc. as I am, simply live your life in a manner that deserves respect. Be a good person, and do not hide your faith. You'll be surprised to see how accepting people are when you don't shove it down their throats and just behave like a decent human being.

One by one, the people around me have discovered that pagan are good people. That's the only way to change hearts and share the truth. One person at a time.

It saddens me when I hear all these things. You ignorantly bring to pass what is written and still can not see what you do. It is no wonder the time will be cut short so there remains a remnant of the righteous.

I believe that one day people will see the difference. Hopefully they will finally research something before judging it.
