Jehovahs witness isn't satanic. I would hate to practice that religion though personally. True Jehovah's witness's seem very oppressed, especially sexually
Is is all over the world, and one of the oldest religions today. It is not very open, but slowly coming of age. No government admits to it, although many governments practice somewhat in it. Satanism is very misunderstood, and that is usually what scares others away. But in Canada, yes, it's there. Believe me, each country on this planet, has evidence of this. Just look, and you will find.

Satanism, as originated by Anton Levay, is recognized in the United States, though often people are not familiar with their actual practices and make false assumptions based on previous teachings, or Min's-information by self same or other sources. (I know, I used to think that members of the Church of Satan killed babies... only because I was told so by my youth pastor in a baptist church.) After doing some research on my own and meeting a member of the Church of Satan I found that this is untrue. But they do believe in harming someone that harms you. This is not my belief and therefore I had to break friendship with my former Satanist friend.
I am a LaVey Satanist. Satanism isn't a sect and does nothing bad, so it isn't illegal. I'm guessing the current prime minister wouldn't really recognize it, but there isn't a law in Canada that says Thai Satanism isn't a religion. Good question.
I just know there are 20 000 members of the Church Of Satan around the world, and tons more of non members.

Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees freedom of of conscience, religion, thought, belief, opinion, peaceful assembly, association and expression including freedom of the press and other media of communication, just like the USA's constitution. So in theory, anyone can worship anything, including Satanism. There are Satanists in Canada. The Charter basically says that every person is guaranteed equality and freedom, but Clause 33 says the Government of Canada or of any of the provinces can withdraw them at any time by simply passing restrictive legislation.
There don't appear to be any Canadian Provinces that have "officially" recognized Satanism as a religion (why would they need to do so?). Even if one did, it could simply reverse itself under Article 33 if it choose to.
The Temple of Set and the Church of Satan both have small groups in Canada (by small I mean 2 or 3 people in some cases). Since Satanists tend to be misfits, loners, and delusional people (e.g. the "alien elite" who claim they can cast magic spells but who can't get good jobs or friends), they don't have big churches on main street. Don't expect to find "The First Church of Satan of Quebec" in the phone book. It'll be some guy with an Internet web page.
exactly what do you mean by "recognized religion''? Like as in when you fill out a questionnaire does it have a box that you can check for Satanism? Or just that the government knows that it exists?
The 2001 Canadian Census does not have a "Satanism" box, so I guess not...

The ATC Tradition of Wicca has been established in these United States as a faith fully recognized and protected under the law by the courts and Constitution, as well as the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights. It has also been legally established and govern mentally recognized in Canada and Australia.

I know that it is here in the U.S it is recognized but us pagans since we don't have a "building" that we worship in we aren't recognized. As to a list go to the website below and ask in the search engine. It is far better than go ogle.
Unfortuantely, I can only find the definition of Satanism.
1. Materialistic Satanists ? the majority; those like LaVey, for whom Satan is not real and all rituals are simply for fun
2. Mystical Satanists ? those who think an impersonal spiritual power can be tapped for their personal benefit; sometimes these Satanists believe in two powers, one positive and one negative, and they seek the negative power.
3. Mad Satanists ? those who believe in God and Satan, profess to follow Satan despite the eternal consequences, and who are often mentally unstable; such Satanists are generally isolated individuals, not part of a larger Satanic group
Despite research, I am unable to find any "recognition" by the Canadian government.
